ArmA 3 Apex Expansion and Accompanying Update Now Live

Apex adds a whole new warzone into the game. Tanoa, a South Pacific island archipelago, has distinct geographical features which provide new opportunities to players. New weapons, gear, and vehicles are all available to expansion owners. Probably of most interest to the co-op community is the Apex Protocol 1-4 player co-op campaign. Apexis available now on Steam for $34.99 and, of course, requires ArmA 3 to play.

The DLC is premium in that it costs; €12.99/£10.99/$15.99. For this you will get access to two types of helicopter to play in the game; CH-67 Huron and the Mi-290 Taru, that also have skin variants. Also included are ten new VR Training missions designed to help you get a handle on controlling the rotored beasts.

ArmA 3 Gets a Launch Date

Bohemia Interactive has also released a launch countdown website, chock-full of information for eager fans. It was announced earlier this week that ArmA 3 won't be launching with its campaign, which will instead be added to the game over three free updates after launch. The first campaign update, entitled Survive, is scheduled for a month after release. The second two updates, Adapt and Win will be released within the months following.

ArmA 3 has hit alpha phase and is actually available to purchase via Steam right now for $32.99. By doing so you get early access to the game, can contribute feedback to its development, and will get full access to the full release once it's ready. If you aren't familiar with the series, ArmA is all about real tactical combat in a sandbox type environment. We've already seen the potential of the series, with ArmA 2 allowing 100 player co-op missions.

Arma 3 E3 2011 Trailer Hints at Something Bigger

Bohemia Interactive have released a teaser trailer for Arma 3, their next iteration in their tactical warfare series for the PC. It sort of blurs the line between live action video and in game footage. We're actually quite confused at what we're looking at, especially if you let the trailer run passed the closing logo.

Boehmia Interactive have announced Arma 3, the sequel to Arma 2. Shocking, I know. The series is created by many of the original developers of the first Operation Flashpoint game and it retains a gritty and realistic look at war. Along with this, the Arma games focus on realistic vehicles and weapons to try to emulate an authentic experience.
