I think Mike nails it best in our stream, the gunplay in the game isn't as arcade like as others in this genre, it feels more akin to something like Far Cry. There are real world mechanics and feel at play here combined with a deep customization system like the ability to add attachments and tweaks to make the gun do exactly what you want. Need range? Add a scope. Want a bigger magazine? Add it. Looking for better accuracy, add a different muzzle. All of this is done during an instance of "your run" - basically the rogue like element to the game.
Enjoy our antics in the next video.
Enjoy as we take on The Crossing.
There are some great set pieces, and of course our gallows humor to keep things light throughout the video. Enjoy.
This one begins with a bang as we immediately witness one of the new features Turtle Rock Studios is brining to the game. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but let's just say it is a BIG addition to the zombie shooter.
What is most important for me in this type of first-person shooter is the emergent storytelling that comes from playing with your friends. Left 4 Dead and its sequel were so wildly popular back in the day because of those shared tales that would get retold between your friends, and even outside of your group. Jason can't count how many times when he would talk to folks about their favorite co-op experience, they would regale him with some story about "ok, so this one time my buddies and me were playing Left 4 Dead and... " Back 4 Blood totally nails this and I'm excited for people to be able to share stories about their time together fending off the Ridden [read "zombie" in B4B terms].
The new trailer showcases several features of the PC version of Back 4 Blood, including:
Warner Bros. Games and Turtle Rock Studios have revealed an all-new trailer that provides an in-depth look at the new crew of Back 4 Blood’s zombie slaying crew known as “The Cleaners.” The trailer also provides a glimpse into the different zombie types, called Ridden, that players will encounter in the game, including Breakers, Ogres, Snitchers, Hags and more.
The four player co-op game is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series X/S along with the PC. Instead this summer players are going to get their hands on an open beta of the game, instead of the final polished version.
