Extinction Episode 4: Exodus finally lets player fights The Ancestors. Following the escape in episode 3, your team arrives to fight the Cryptid army in one last effot to save humanity. The main mission is to get VIPs to safety by powering up a shuttle and launching it to a space station currently in orbit.

In terms of co-op, the player's class is now displayed above the players heads and those Kastet rounds will explode at any distance. A few bug fixes hit Extinction as well, coupled with some balancing and performance issues. Take a look at the full patch notes below:

Extinction Episode 3: Awakening sees the team entering the alien underworld on a mission to attack the Ancestor's subterranean fortress. Armed with new weapons, players will fight through a series of fortified barriers to reach the Ark and uncover its mysteries. New enemies await the team, as do familiar foes.

Extinction Episode 2: Mayday tasks the player team with boarding and investigating a ghost ship in the South Pacific. Players will meet new foes, including Seeders, which climb on walls and have a deadly gas projectile attack, as well as the Kraken, which is exactly what you think it is - a huge monster in the sea, larger than a building. 

The Devastation pack contains 4 multiplayer maps, but for co-op fans it is the Extinction saga that we are interested in.  The second act of said 6 player co-op saga is called Mayday and is part of the DLC.

Beginning tomorrow, Friday March 21st, players will get the chance to download the free trial version of Onslaught via their Xbox One's and Xbox 360's. The trail will end on Monday, March 24th, however, so make sure not to miss the opportunity. Three days access to the DLC, compared to the normal price of $15, is a nice offer indeed.

'Extinction Episode 2: Mayday' has the Quick Reaction Force team tasked with investigating an advanced ghost ship in the wake of 'Episode 1: Nightfall'. Located in the South Pacific, players will encounter enemies such as "Seeders" which can climb on walls and shoot gassed projectiles, and the "Kraken" which is bsically just that - a giant, building sized enemy from the sea. Activision promises more 'Extinction' content to come down the road. 

The latest update will install next time you log into the game if you are playing on 360, One, PS3, PS4 or PC.  Most of the patch is universal, but there are a few things that only effect certain platforms.  As an incentive to download the update, the Free Fall multiplayer map is now open for everyone to use (rather than just preorder gamers).

Anchoring Onslaught is "Episode 1: Nightfall," the first installment in Extinction's new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, "Episode 1: Nightfall" takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind's first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.
