The core "hook" to Circuit Breakers is that all the weapons have unlimited ammo, however, shooting also uses up special crystals (dropped by enemies) that upgrade your gun. This "tug of war" mechanic means you shouldn't just "spray and pray" and adds an interesting strategic element to the usual twin-stick shooter gameplay.
]]>It's looking like that was enough time to get the PlayStation 4 version of game where they wanted it, but they've had to push the Xbox One release back a bit to August 8th. All those Sony users can start tearing into CB's six player local co-op, but you Microsoft adherents will have to make do with the most recent PS4 gameplay trailer, below.
Circuit is out already for PC fans, but XBox One and PlayStation 4 fans will have to wait a little longer as the 6 player local co-op game is out early this year. With developers Triverkse unwilling to tell us the exact release date, they have offered instead the next best thing in the form of a gameplay trailer which includes some 2 player japes.
Circuit Breakers hit Steam at the tail end of 2015 with a frantic local co-op mode in tow. Shortly afterwards an Xbox One release was teased for the future. Developer Triverske has finally earmarked that window for February 2017, unleashing a few screenshots to remind us how insane this game truly is.
The Galactic Federation of Affairs has hired a group of mercenaries to wipe out some bad robots. Those four mercenaries happen to have an array of shooting skills that perfectly complement each other, too. Aldo uses machine guns, Shelby uses spread shotguns, Samson's got explosives, and Tay has a tough beam rifle. Each character's weapon starts out pretty basic but upgrades through regular play. Collect energy from busted robots to level them up, but don't waste shots or get hit, 'cause that levels them down. Tough cookies, eh?
