In order to snag a copy of Crackdown 2, one must log into their Xbox account, navigate to the game and press the download button - easy work with a great reward. In this case, “free” does in fact mean ‘FREE’ so you don’t even need an Xbox Live Gold membership to snag the game. Ruffian Games, the makers of Crackdown 2, are looking for a few good men and/or women to help them work on some new projects. No details are given, other than the projects are "really exciting, high action, visceral titles that are heavily focussed on online." Is Crackdown 3 in the works? Maybe. Is Ruffian Games hiring new coders to work on new games? Definitely.

Sometime over the holidays we missed Microsoft posting Crackdown 2 onto the Xbox Live Games on Demand. The four player co-op title features campaign co-op throughout - its a game with did quite the in depth review of - and for the most part - enjoyed what we got out of it. Its currently priced at $29.99 which, surprisingly, is the price it goes for at retail. This bucks the trend of digital releases on Xbox Live that seem to be priced higher than their retail counterparts.

When Crackdown 2 was originally announced to have an 8 player co-op survival mode, we were ecstatic. When we found out the feature had been cut from the game...we were saddened. But the mode has returned, though slightly different, and only supporting four players - it's called Deluge - and its the latest piece of DLC for Crackdown 2.

Crackdown 2's Deluge Pack hit Xbox Live today, as promised. We notified you guys a couple weeks back of what this DLC had to offer and offered up a trailer. Most exciting to us, of course, was mention of the Horde-esque co-op mode called, well, you guessed it, Deluge. If you're on the fence about the Deluge Pack, you can preview it. The Deluge Pack Preview gives you a single-player version of Deluge and the other mode that's included in the pack, Capture the Orb (playable with up to 16 players competitively). If you like what you see, you can purchase the Premium Deluge Pack for 560 MSP which unlocks the full version of Deluge (up to 4 players), new achievements, avatar rewards, and Capture the Orb over 6 arenas.

It's now smooth sailing if you own or plan to purchase the Crackdown 2 "Toy Box" DLC pack. After we previously reported the premium content was causing game crashes, an update has been issued. All you need to do is delete the existing content and redownload it and you'll be good to go.

Excited to try the new Toy Box DLC for Crackdown 2, I hurried home and fired up my copy. Soon I was greeted with a giant black screen and nothing. Crap, it's true. I had noticed earlier in the night MTV Multiplayer Blog's Russ Frushtick was having problems and wondered if anyone else was. Turns out, lots of people are. The official Xbox forums has plenty of angry posters with the same issue.

It looks like we're on the cusp of some new DLC for Crackdown 2 as Microsoft has just announced the details of two separate packs coming soon for the four player co-op title. Called Toy Box, the pack will add a brand new Keys to the City mode to Crackdown 2, a jetpack for maxed out Agents, and a vehicle tag multiplayer mode for versus play.
