Part of the update is the Keys to the City mode, something that was available in Crackdown 2 that allowed cheats, customization, and downright silly things to happen.
]]>The previous content update provided a new suit for Commander Jaxon, a new weapon, and a new vehicle to use to stop crime. It also came with some specific instructions on how to activate everything, which can be found below.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/15958/free-crackdown-3-content-and-co-op-save-fixes.htmlBut there's some sad news on the co-op front. One thing we've learned is the game has scaled back from it's four player co-op to just two - something only discovered recently thanks to the official Xbox Store listing.
Microsoft is doing this to celebrate the fact that Crackdown 3, the long delayed sequel to the sequel, has gotten a release date. You'll be digging in on February 15th, 2019 to the game and its all new multiplayer mode, Mayhem.
Four player can join the chaos together as they power up their agents in online co-op. Crackdown 3 will be released on both PC and Xbox One and be available for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass at launch.
“We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date, However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”
It's a little unbelievable to think about, but the title was first announced back at E3 2014. At that time, the Xbox One was still a new thing and the Xbox Play Anywhere program wouldn't even be announced for another two years. It's good to see that the title will keep with Microsoft's promise of first-party titles supporting this program. As a quick refresher, by participating in this program, buying Crackdown 3 digitally via the Xbox One store or Windows 10 store automatically entitles you to the other version. It also means cross-platform play and saves will be supported.
Would-be gumshoes can stand at ease, though, as this mystery was quickly and quietly solved thanks to yesterday's brief announcement. As it turns out, Crackdown 3 will become one of many titles in line with Microsoft's Play Anywhere vision, which means that it will be playable on both Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One with the purchase of a single copy. Great news, right? Unfortunately, it also led into Reagent's next statement: none shall enjoy the game's Cloud-based destruction until sometime in 2017.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/14270/crackdown-3-has-been-quietly-pushed-to-2017.htmlWhile the previous Crackdowns' Agents hopped across the city with relative impunity, Crackdown 3 offers players the change to rampage around a "100% destructable environment." I hope that means you can elbow drop straight into a thriving cityscape and reduce it to a lifeless crater over the course of the game.
