Blizzard Won't Add Microtransactions in Upcoming Diablo 3 Patch

The immensely popular title from Blizzard, Diablo 3, might be seeing some microtransactions coming to it in the future. However, there is somewhat of a silver lining to this bit of news. Blizzard was quick to point out that not all features included in the upcoming patch 2.2.0 might will be found in all regions, as data mined information might suggest. More than likely, it'll be the Asian markets that will receive the microtransactions instead. As PC gaming comprises the majority of the region, this may prove to be a very profitable maneuver for the company.

A few of the big changes involve the rifts themselves, which now feature treasure goblins that can spawn not only gold but legendary items, gems, and other goodies when killed. The town in Tristam has also been reorganized bringing the vendors all around the main square giving easier access to trade, craft, and improve your items and equipment during adventure mode. Several changes have also been made in how stats are presented to the player, making sure the messaging is clear.

We here at Co-Optimus really liked Diablo 3 upon release, though plenty die-hard fans of the previous entries were less than pleased. Blizzard spent the two years since release plugging away and improving everything from skills to basic game mechanics, making punching goat men more fun than ever. The new loot system was the biggest game changer. Instead of picking up Intelligence pants with your Barbarian, now the gear is relevant to whatever character you happen to be playing, making for a more complete and custom-built experience.
