Return Once More to Old Tristram in Diablo 3

Starting around 7:00 PM EST tonight on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of Diablo 3, you'll be able to enter the portal that will take you back to the pixelated days of Diablo. Battle you way through 16 floors of the original Tristram cathedral, fight the Butcher, and bring down Diablo. If you do all that using a new, level one character, then you'll be able to get some sweet loot in the form of a Butcher pet. Of course, if you participated in the event last year, there may not be quite as many new things this time around, but it does look like there might be a different banner reward and transmogrification recipes.

You'll be free to play as much of the game you want and any/all progress will be saved so if you decide to pick up the title for real, you won't have to start over. That progress will also carry over in to the new Diablo III: Eternal Collection, if you decide to go that route instead. The Eternal Collection includes all of Diablo III, the Reaper of Souls expansion, and the recently added Necromancer class (which Mike and I checked out on the PC this past Monday). That edition is on sale for 35% off (or $38.99) until Monday night as well.

Our conclusion: yup, this sure is a Necromancer and yup, probably a bit OP. Still, a fun class to play and worth the $15 buy-in if you're looking for something new/different in Diablo 3 right now.

Raise the Dead Next Week in Diablo 3

Necromancer Class for Diablo 3 Set to Enter the Closed Beta Stage

In order to put your name in the running to be a beta tester, you'll need to log into your Battle.Net account and then access the "Beta Profile Settings" under "Account Management." Tick the box next to Diablo 3 under the "Beta Tests I'm Interested In" section and you're all set. It's worth noting that all this does is tell Blizzard you'd like to participate in the closed beta, but it does not mean you will for sure participate in it. Additionally, this closed beta is for the PC/Mac version of the game only. According to the official post:

Season 6 and New Patch Now Live for Diablo 3

A few new Transmogrification recipes have been added to the world of Sanctuary. These are all common-quality items that have been added to the loot drop table for certain enemies, rare chests, Rift guardians, and/or Adventure Mode bounties. Along with the new recipes comes a new treasure goblin, the Menagerist Goblin, that can be found out in the wilds. Kill him in time and he'll drop one of the non-combat pets that have been available at various times during the game. Latest Diablo 3 Patch Causing Issues on Consoles

Digital Foundry put together a video that highlights a couple of the issues user's are experiencing post-patch, such as input lag and frame stuttering, and users have taken to Blizzard's Diablo 3 forums to let the developer know about the issue and that they need to "FIX IT!"
