DJ Hero 2 Patch Allows Spinning of DJ Hero 1 DLC

Owners of both DJ Hero 1 and 2 found themselves in a bit of a conundrum when they realized their DJ Hero 1 DLC wouldn't work with the second game. Thankfully Activision has been quick to answer the call - the latest patch for DJ Hero 2 will allow your tracks to be imported and played from the first game.

DJ Hero 2 comes at a time where the rhythm game genre is stepping aside to make room for the more motion control games. The first game sold well enough to warrant a sequel, and while the new game doesn't offer guitar co-op, it does offer something new. Our techno inspired review is here.

Filled Friends List Causing DJ Hero 2 Lockups

We got our copy of DJ Hero 2 into Co-Optimus HQ today - eager to checkout the game we fired it up - and after the first song we were quickly greeted with a lockup. A fluke perhaps. But after several more attempts at the game's career mode the lockups were consistently occurring between songs in a mix - I feared the worst - my Xbox 360 was going.

DJ Hero 2 Released Today, Online Demo and First DLC Revealed

If you like your music games with a bit less metal and a bit more crossfading, you'll be glad to know that DJ Hero 2 is on store shelves starting today. Up to two turntables and a vocalist can team up to... er, spin that record, babe. If you're undecided about the game, you can try a browser based demo, using the mouse and keyboard to simulate the true turntable experience. It's actually pretty fun by itself, though I can't compare it to the real controller as I've never used one.

Mix It Up With A Friend in DJ Hero 2's Freestyle Modes

DJ Hero 2 is headed your way next month, but we've got a new gameplay video for you to check out right now. It's all about the details of the revamped Freestyle mode, and details all the options players will have at their literal fingertips. Crossfading, scratching, and sampling are all available, letting players mix their music creatively without worrying about gameplay elements at all. This gives a more realistic DJ experience, where the player is actually using the controller as an instrument. There's also a tidbit about two-player co-op Freestyle, where you and a friend can draw inspiration from each other to create the perfect mix. Definitely worth checking out if you are a DJ Hero fan.

DJ Hero 2's Epic Track List Revealed

Activision has revealed the entire 83 song set list for DJ Hero 2 and to say its epic, is an understatement. Powered mostly by music from the 1990s and modern day you have some amazing combinations of songs for the techno and dance fan in your home.

DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock Demos Available on Xbox Live

It's a good time to be a frugal music game fan with an Xbox 360. Not one, but two demos are now available on Xbox Live for upcoming rhythm game releases: DJ Hero 2 (hitting retail on October 19) and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock (coming to stores September 28). Each demo has four tracks for you to check out, ranging from The Pussycat Dolls and Kanye West to Black Sabbath and the Foo Fighters. Check them out now, and decide if either game is deserving of your gaming dollar this crowded gaming season.

We've got a brand new trailer today showing off DJ Hero 2's multiplayer modes. Only one of those modes is a co-op mode and this time, instead of a guitar and turntable combo - we have two turntables and a microphone. This party style mode allows drop in and drop out play and looks like it'll be a solid addition to the game.

DJ Hero 2 Promises to Have the Best Soundtrack Ever

Over 100 "top-selling" artists' tracks are being recruited for DJ Hero 2, due this October. Activision is rolling the hype train out of the station, claiming that the unique mixes stemming from this pool of tracks will be the "best soundtrack in entertainment".

DJ Hero 2 Announced for this Fall

Activision has announced a sequel to last year's DJ Hero in DJ Hero 2. While the core gameplay looks to be identical, developer Freestyle Games has instead focused on features and social play. It's unclear whether the guitar and turn-table co-op mode is making a comeback, instead we now have a mode where a player can pick up a microphone and sing along with one or two DJs.
