Donkey Kong's addition to Mario + Rabbids was hinted at early on with the promise that the DLC packs for the game would include weapons (delivered at launch with the "Pixel Pack" and "Steampunk Pack"), new challenges (delivered last October with the "Ultra Challenge Pack"), and "new story content." It appears Donkey Kong's arrival will be the aforementioned story content as not only will he be a playable character, but a new single-player story mission will be added to the game as well. While it's a shame you won't be able to play that mission with a buddy, at least you'll still be able to enjoy using Donkey Kong himself in the separate co-op missions.

You will probably know by now if the game breaking bug has affected you; it prevented you moving on from level 3-3 Frantic Fields to 3-4 Scorch 'n' Torch. The new update will allow players to continue the game as normal, thankfully you will not have to start again from scratch.

We're less than a month away from the latest flagship title on the Nintendo Wii U, and local co-op will be the name of the game here. Up to two players can assume the characters of: the fearless leader, Donkey Kong, the trusty sidekick, Diddy Kong, the much loved Dixie Kong, and the unexpected Cranky Kong through 6 worlds of frozen awesome.

Today, Amazon Italy put up a photo of the game’s box art online that displayed another Donkey Kong character not previously mentioned by Nintendo: Cranky Kong. Cranky Kong, who is actually the original Donkey Kong from the Donkey Kong arcade games (just an elderly version of him) may be playable, as the art suggests this given Dixie’s portrayal in the group shot beforehand. Again, this isn’t officially confirmed by Nintendo, but the potential could be here, since Dixie will definitely be playable. Also, the image was quickly taken down after it went live. We did hear from Nintendo representatives that additional characters may be included in the game besides the confirmed three, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is the second in the modern Donkey Kong Country series, following Donkey Kong Country Return’s success on both the 3DS and Wii. We had a chance to try out the game via a meeting with Nintendo and relive the glory days of Donkey Kong on the SNES, and we certainly weren’t disappointed with what we saw....
