Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition has hit the PS3 and PlayStation Vita for just $9.99 with cross-buy and cross play support. The game is also free for PS owners for the month of January. It features the same 8 player co-op that was added to the PC version, a bump up from four that was available on the classic. Included with the game are four campaigns.
]]>The game's been hacked, modded, beefed up and overhauled many times since its 1996 release, but any co-op gamer will agree that Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition with its online multiplayer is the Duke Nukem game to own. Play through the campaign with up to eight players, climbing across scaffoldings, offering money to strippers, and "saving" nearly naked ladies from the clutches of evil alien plant things.
The entire Duke Nukem 3D campaign is once again playable in online co-op, something that was only previously possible on the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game. I went ahead and gave the multiplayer a test drive and it works near flawlessly. There's a ton of great options and user maps to choose from for competitive multiplayer. In fact, I was able to upload a map I created in 1996 to Steam Workshop and make it available for everyone. Simply hosting a game with the custom map gave the other users access to it.
