Dungeon Fighter LIVE Update Fixes a Few Issues, Ignores Most

Prior to its release, Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre simply overflowed with potential. A combination of beat-em-up and RPG with an online multiplayer focus; how could things go wrong? Well, they did go somewhat awry, as our Co-Op Review explains. A complete lack of visual character customization and an online interface that would've been outdated in 2006, let alone 2012 makes what should've been a fantastic game into only a decent one. Developer Nexon has just published an official update that tweaks a few things here and there but sadly ignores just about all the issues that keep DFL from greatness.

So you could be forgiven for not having played Dungeon Fighter Online, the one and only MMO beat-em-up game. That said, the series comes to Xbox Live Arcade next week as Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre. Time to brush up on your Dungeon Fighter knowledge - and what better way to do so than watch a trailer detailing the series history from 2005 to present? Filled with not only gameplay footage but also live-action and anime sequences, this 'History' trailer is definitely worth a watch.

Brawl-PG fans - that is to say, fans of beat-em-up RPGs - will have reason to celebrate next week. Neople's Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre finally comes to Xbox Live Arcade on Friday, July 13. That feels like a long wait for yours truly, as I absolutely love the genre (and Dungeon Fighter Online for PC). In the meantime, this batch of new screenshots and a trailer will have to tide folks like me over.

With the announcement of Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre, developer Neople are striking a blow for the side of the Dungeons. Co-Optimus does not care much for a name, as long as the game has co-op; Dungeon Fighter LIVE has been announced with 4 player local and online co-op. Joy!
