Long story short, progress is shared amongst all players - though changes and progress to the world only affects the host. Critical decisions are shared - with all players voting on what happens next, though the host gets the final say. Sounds a bit like Divinity: Original Sin!

Dying Light 2: Stay Human Release Date Unveiled

The game takes place 20 years after the original with the world haven fallen deeper into chaos as the undead have basically "won." There's a 30 minute video put together by Techland talking about the backstory, showcasing the technology, unveiling the special editions, and of course revealing almost 6 minutes of gameplay.

Dying Light 2 Delayed

While the sequel was originally announced for Spring of 2020, the delay could push the game into the release windows of the next generation of gaming consoles; Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is slated for a “holiday 2020” release, and Sony’s PlayStation 5 will likely arrive sometime within that window as well. Oddly enough, the original Dying Light was set to debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before those versions of the game were scrapped in favor of the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions we know today.

Without an official release date yet, Dying Light 2 has remained tantalizing through the constant trickle of information we’ve received. The dynamic world that changes with the choices you make and the involvement of popular video game writer Chris Avellone both sound great alone, but seeing them as the tip of the iceberg makes one wonder what else is in store. If you haven’t played the first game, we gave it a 4 out of 5 for both overall gameplay and co-op, stating that, “Dying Light is a fun game and does a lot well, it is a great start to the year and should definitely be played with some friends.” That review can be found in full here.

This latest bit of gameplay footage isn't helping matters, but I'm contractually bound to consume it nonetheless. Thankfully, the nearly half hour clip is in 4K resolution, so at least the visuals consuming my thoughts will be crisp. The game's ambitious take on open world mechanics has been discussed a great deal since its initial reveal, but we haven't gotten to see much of it in action until now. Even if you don't have an extra twenty-six minutes to spend watching the whole thing, I'd recommend skimming through it, for no other reason than getting a glimpse of some very nice looking ruins.
