The maps for these new missions were created using tools in Far Cry 5's Arcade Mode and the assets that were used are getting added for players to make their own levels of shambling zeds. If you successfully complete each mission with a 3-star rating, you'll also unlock some new weapons in the main story campaign.
]]>The gang over at Ubisoft has put out two trailers to give players a glimpse at what exactly they'll be getting into on Mars. First up is a teaser trailer:
Far Cry 5 was released in spring of 2018 with co-op baked into the campaign all the way through. While the game itself was awarded a 3.5 out of 5 by Co-Optimus, we also gave the co-op in the game a 4 out of 5, pointing out the clunky story which can be overlooked as you romp around with a friend across Montana. The full review by Enoch Stames can be found here.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/15640/far-cry-5-hours-of-darkness-teaser-trailer.htmlI've not played any Far Cry 5, but everything I've seen/read/heard of the game basically points me to "play it in co-op and have some dumb fun," which works for me. Mike and Nick do their best to show off some of that by luring one another to various vehicles before blowing them up, using a gravity gun to juggle bears, and jumping out of planes mid-flight and leaving the other person behind in the passenger seat. Honestly, that seems like the best way to play it, considering your co-op buddy doesn't earn of the story progression by playing the game with you.
Last week we had a look at a goofy live action TV spot / ad. Looks like the Hope County Board of Tourism finally got that extra funding to shoot a promo video, but they forgot to edit out the massive amounts of carnage and animal attacks. Or maybe that's just part of the Big Sky State's charm.
The game's latest trailer details each of the seven guns-for-hire, including their weaponry, combat style, and some light background snippets. Check it out below:
Unfortunately, we're gonna have to wait a few more weeks before that tiny little beam grows enough to envelop us with its cooperative beauty, but in the meantime, we have a trickling of news to tide us over. First up is a brand new story trailer, detailing the exact reason you'll be mowing down cultists across Hope County, Montana.
Here at Co-Optimus we’re most excited about the announcement that the campaign can be played completely in Co-Op. In the video below the Co-Op bits can be found starting at 1:05 with the developer also covering the number of characters (0:19) and the terrifying wildlife (1:35).
Similar to recent Far Cry releases, the protagonist must work closely with the local factions if they want to really stick it to the baddies. In FC5, they'll be filling a "Resistance Meter", which unlocks more allies and (presumably) weaponry as it progresses. What do these allies do, exactly? Well, I bet you can guess, but check out the trailer below if you want to see them in action.
The Friend for Hire system has been built into the game since day one meaning that Ubisoft had co-op in mind throughout. This means that the entire campaign and all the side missions are open to play in co-op, all you have to do is finish the introduction and invite a friend.
