See, wasn't that pleasant? Just you and some farmers getting work done on the old homestead. Life is simple, life is good. Like the trailer says, Farming Simulator 15 is considered the most complete farming experience on the market. The series has been around for nearly a decade and has sold millions of copies. Developer Giants Software is definitely onto something. The next-gen console debut should pull in plenty of new workers to help labor in the fields. Did I say workers and labor? I meant players and play.

For the first time ever, the world's most exciting farming simulator, Farming Simulator 15, is coming to those who either prefer console gaming, or are afraid of the personal computer and the devilry it holds.  Though the game is coming to both current and previous generations of consoles, the 360 and PS3 versions will not contain the online multiplayer afforded to their younger (but cooler) Xbox One and PS4 brethren.  Honestly, the trailer below makes it look pretty slick, too.

If you own a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One or Xbox 360, prepare to have your game collection completed as the premium console farming sim is coming to all these devices.  The online co-op will only be available on the newer generation consoles; the PS3 and 360 just cannot handle this many polygons at once.

"Farming Simulator 15 [...] offers for the first time a multiplayer mode on consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One)!" the publisher notes. "Invite your friends to join in your game: increase your productivity by sharing tasks or cooperating on bigger missions, and develop your farm faster!"

Gamepads do a terrible job simulating a real tractor's steering wheel, as do a mouse and keyboard. Generic steering wheel accessories are made for racing games, and you don't need a brain scientist to tell you those thing handle differently than a tractor. The only sensible solution is to create a dedicated peripheral device perfectly suited for farming. Saitek is currently at work on just such a thing. It seems it won't be around until the 2015 holiday season, but hey, farming requires patience.

The added features, which we know deep down that we do not deserve, include a new Nordic environment and 20 new brands of farming equipment ranging from Ponsse to Deutz-Fahr.  The agricultural acolytes, known to us as Giants Software, have already released a number of videos detailing new additions to the bi-yearly franchise, which culminate here:

It's a peaceful trailer which showcases actions such as driving, hoeing, and planting seeds as well as important farm items such as greenhouses, chickens and cows! It also features some terrifying machines that will probably be haunting my nightmares tonight, thank you very much Farming Simulator 15.
