The developers of Sony Santa Monica were working hard to bring us a handful of new items to use in game. But, most especially, brand new co-op moves have been included into the game that add even more depth to the co-op modes. These Mythological Heroes weapons utilize the insanely brutal Co-op Moves, designed specifically to dish out the heavy damage and make any foe think twice. Here is a video showcasing some of these moves, followed by the list of new weapons:

God of War: Ascension to Receive Multiplayer Patch, Trial of the Gods Fixes

The latest entry to the God of War series, God of War: Ascension, has been out for almost a month now; providing players with plenty of opportunity to play against each other in its competitive multiplayer modes, or cooperatively in the "Trial of the Gods" mode. As with other games that have some combination of competitive and cooperative modes, your avatar's levels and progression carries over in both modes. So if you sharpen your blades in the competitive world and then decide co-op is more your pace, you don't have to start all over.

This week there's not a whole lot going on. Co-op is coming to one of the PlayStation 3's flagship titles, but not much else is happening on the cooperative front. If you don't have a PS3 you can catch up on your backlog. You know it's mocking you.

God of War: Ascension to Contain Co-Op Mode

Longtime fans of God of War and lovers of co-op rejoice! God of War: Ascension will contain a special cooperative mode that can be played with two players. The mode is called the "Trial of the Gods," and it is the first cooperative mode in a God of War title to date. The trial will find you teaming up with another champion in order to survive five waves of enemies in a timed event.
