Guacamelee! was originally released in April 2013 for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The PC port came later in the year, and an enhanced Guacamelee!: Super Turbo Championship Edition version is in the works for a Spring 2014 release on next-gen consoles and Xbox 360. One part action game, one part platformer, and one part brawler, Guacamelee! stars Juan Aguacate, a down on his luck farmer who travels through the worlds of the living and the dead to rescue the love of his life. It's incredibly stylish and, at times, incredibly difficult, but the two player local co-op makes up for that. A bit.
]]>Thus far, this platformer title had only reached PlayStation and PC owners. DrinkBox Studios, however, couldn't let their fans down, wanting their game to be available on as many of the current gen consoles as possible. Not only will Guacamelee! be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, and Xbox 360, but will also include a large amount of new content to dive into. New additions such as: an extended story with all new areas in the game to battle through, an all new boss character, all new player abilities, and many other enhancements will make this the definitive version to play. Even if you've already experienced the game before, it might be worth it to check out what the Super Turbo Championship Edition has to offer:

The internet never sleeps, of course, so plenty of eyes saw the leak and started blabbing. As far as rumors go, this one sounds surprisingly tame, and therefore more plausible. If we're going to spread unconfirmed information, why not crazy it up a little bit? We heard there's going to be a secret hot coffee nude mode in the new Guacamelee. Yeah, that's right. You just have to know the secret code to unlock it. And nobody's going to tell you the code because the NSA stole it and gave it to Obama. Yes, rumors.
Here's the details:
Moving from PlayStation 3 and PS Vita to PC doesn't come without a few perks, of course. The new release sports the full title Guacamelee! Gold Edition and will include a handful of extras, a few of which are PC exclusive. In addition, all who buy the game within a week of its August 8th release will get another DrinkBox Studios game for free: Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, a co-op puzzle platformer originally released in 2011.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/10574/guacamelee-gold-edition-coming-to-pc.htmlThe Devil's domain features a tower full of challenge levels that will test the skills of even the best wrestlers. Grab one of the new costumes and head down to deal with some dirty work. El Infierno is available as a cross-buy download for both PS3 and PSVita for $2.99. Drinkbox Studios has created a great reason to pick Guacamelee! back up. Even if you have wrapped the game, the challenge levels will push your limits as a luchador. Each level has a different goal; race to the goal, defeat a certain number of enemies, or amass a large combo without being hit. Climb the ranks of El Infierno, and the challenges become more difficult. For an added bonus bronze, silver, and gold medals will be rewarded based on performance.
DrinkBox Studios, developer of Guacamelee!, lauded the difficultly of this level, described as the “El Infierno” of the game. Players shouldn’t take this lightly. As they said themselves, this is where players battle "skeletal enemies in the bureaucratic nightmare of the Devil’s domain, where tortured souls are given never-ending paperwork." Sounds pretty rough to me (I wonder what Locke thinks about this)! Take a quick look at the DLC through a video, courtesy of Gamespot:

Thankfully, Guacamelee! is anything but the real world; instead it is a 2 player co-op side scrolling beat-em-up on PSN and Vita that now has new DLC in the form of three power providing suits. Other new DLC will allow players to swap characters mid-level for the first time; Cock-a-doodle-doo.

The metroidvania style game where you take control of mutli-dimensional hopping luchadors and do what luchadors do - beat things up - is coming out next month on April 9th.

They were showing off Guacamelee! which is based on something we all love, luchadores. Chris described the game as a "Metroidvania brawler" which features two player co-op, rooted in Mexican culture.

Firstly, there is no need to shout and secondly, I may have found a cure for their Mexican dip based insomnia in the form of Guacamelee! This 2 player local co-op platformer/action game is coming to PSN soon and appears to be as mental as that song. Check out Read More, for details and a trailer for the game, the visual style may knock you unconscious!
