Guns, Gore, and Cannoli is a 2D shooter platformer in the style of Metal Slug with four player local co-op. The narrative centers around Vinnie Cannoli, a hitman for the mob tasked with going to Thugtown to rescue a certain man of note from a rival family. However, Thugtown is going through a rough patch in 1920's Prohibition America, with everyone in town turning into zombies after consuming poison liquor during a Saint Patty's day throwdown. Time for some "negotiations", mobster style.
]]>Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a bit like Metal Slug set in the roaring '20s. Prohibition is in full-swing, meaning organized crime is just the sort of business you'd like to be in. Unless you're Vinnie Cannoli, that is. One of his friends has gone missing, and in order to get his face off those milk cartons, he's chasing down gangsters across Thugtown for a bit of civil discourse... with guns.
Mark your calendars for April 30th, as we have a special co-op title that we've been interested in since it was greenlit on Steam last September. Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a set in the 1920's Prohibition era, were mobster Vinnie Cannoli faces many enemies on the streets of New York: rival gangs, city folk, and even zombies. Yes, zombies have surfaced within this bloody, city-wide turf war! It's up to Vinnie and his partners in crime to survive this epic conflict and grab a few Italian dishes while they're at it.
To get a good idea of what Guns, Gore & Cannoli is all about, think of a classic sidescrolling arcade shooter like Metal Slug, then replace the plot and characters with a good old fashioned mafia storyline. The game spins an epic gangster story (with zombies) that takes place in 1920s America, a world locked down by prohibition with a depression looming on the horizon. In other words, organized crime is definitely a thing. Vinnie Cannoli is a gangster from Thugtown out on a rampage to find one of his pals who's gone missing. Instead of having civil discourse over a plate of actual cannoli, Vinnie is more interested in using Tommy guns to get things done. Can't fault the guy for wanting to be efficient.
Vinnie Cannoli is a rough gangster from the heart of Thugtown, and he's on the hunt for one of his pals who has gone missing. Talking to the local gangsters usually gets things done, right? Talking, of course, refers to letting loose a few hundred rounds from a Tommy gun before walking through a puddle of the other person's blood.
