The title supports two player local co-op or two player online co-op, with one player taking on the role of the Agent while the other is the Hacker. The goal is to infiltrate corporations and steal valuable intel that could bring them down. The hook here is that the Agent moves about and interacts with the physical world, while the Hacker can only influence things that are connected to the network. Thus, each player has a specific role to play and cooperation is definitely required. Locke and I played some of the title while it was still in beta last May and enjoyed our time with it overall!

Hacktag Beta Recap, Early Access Pushed Back

The last time we saw Piece of Cake's stealth action game was at this year's PAX East when Tally got hands-on with it for a bit. Since then, the developer kicked off a closed beta that was originally slated to end this week before the Early Access period on Steam began. However, in a blog post yesterday, the developer stated that they needed a little more time to better stabilize the online portion of the game, and they're now making it an open beta, which you can sign-up for to join.

After going hands-on with Hacktag at PAX East, I'm looking forward to trying my hand at the game again (hopefully with less failure on my part this time). Not only is the game's difficulty quite challenging, but it requires a lot of coordination and communication between the two players.

Hacktag is a 2-player cooperative game where one player takes on the role of the agent and the other takes on the role of the hacker. The game is set up to tell the story of these two mercenaries as they stick it to the man, stealing valuable data from big-time corporations. There are three separate campaigns with each campaign focused on one of three corporations. These campaigns each provide 4-6 hours of gameplay while telling a comprehensive story of the different corporations.
