Halo 5 Will Not Have Split-Screen Added

While Halo 5 did come out 3 years ago, the possibility of an update to add split-screen would have been welcomed by the community (and us). However, whether or not split-screen will be making an appearance in the upcoming Halo: Infinite is yet to be determined. If you want to see the sweet seconds of what the split-screen looks like, you can see it in the video below at approx 0:42.

And then came Halo 5: Guardians. Prior to the title's release, 343 Studios announced that split-screen functionality, a long time staple of the series, would be removed in order to maintain graphical integrity and frame rate. Many Halo fans were not at all pleased with the studio's decision, and understandably so. We're living in an age when such a feature is a dying breed in AAA titles...but who would've thought that Halo 5 would share such a fate?

Halo 5's Warzone Firefight Co-Op Mode Impressions

Last week 343 Studios finally launched their take on the popular Firefight co-op mode that launched with Halo 3: ODST. Traditionally players would just take on waves and waves of enemies in a seemingly endless fashion, but Halo 5's take is a little more focused - and a lot more chaotic. There's two brand new maps available created just for this mode, with Sanctum being my personal favorite so far.

Warzone Firefight Update for Halo 5 Coming Soon

After the open beta in April, things have been a little quiet on the Firefight front. In part, that appears due to the mode not being the only thing getting added. Three new multiplayer maps, a new variant for the campaign (Campaign Score Attack), a new Forge canvas, new multiplayer gear, and a slew of game updates/tweaks will all be a part of the Warzone Firefight update when it arrives.

Halo 5: Guardians New Warzone Firefight Mode in Open Beta

Borrowing elements from the new Warzone mode and the popular Firefight mode from Halo 3: ODST, Warzone Firefight will put eight players against a horde of A.I. foes on the "Escape from A.R.C." map. Rather than just trying to blow up the opposing team's core, though, you and your buddies will have to complete certain objectives, such as killing a specific kind of enemy, through five rounds of play. For players that have been enjoying Warzone for some time now, all of your REQs and customizations will be available to you.

Firefight Mode Will Return in Halo 5: Guardians

The mode, called "Warzone Firefight," is part of the bevvy of new content 343 Industries has been rolling out or in the works for Halo 5: Guardians. Announced last week on Xbox Wire, the exact details of the mode and what will be new/different weren't outlined, but it sounds like multiplayer progression carry over and vice versa. Hopefully, the mode will be a strictly PvE version of the game's popular "Warzone" multiplayer mode, which is something that some very dedicated Halo players have been petitioning 343 to add.

Please take note that this is all speculative, though 343 has been receptive to player feedback on the games and they did post a Q&A stating that such a mode is something they'd consider if there was enough interest in it. That's all some folks needed as an opening.

PC Version of Halo 5 a Possibility
