If you’d rather watch the development video from Arrowhead, you can do that below. However, in the same blog referenced above Arrowhead explained the format of the Proving Grounds missions, stating:
]]>Titled "A New Hell", the update adds a number of new ways to remind yourself that the unending war to defend Super Earth is indeed pretty hellish. For the veterans out there, three new difficulties have been introduced: An Exercise in Futility, The Definition of Insanity, and the Inner Circle of Hell, which correspond to levels 13, 14, and 15, respectively. As if that weren't enough, the Shadow, Obsidian Observer, and Legionnaire enemies have also been dropped into the game for a truly demoralizing experience.
Our stream takes us through the first half a dozen missions or so, which gives you a pretty good idea of the progression system, mission variety, and the co-op nature of this shooter. It should also give you an idea of just how fun this game is. The four player co-op game should be out sometime next month.
Console to PC ports can be a tricky thing, even in this day and age when the underlying architecture of the systems is similar. However, it sounds like Arrowhead has been working on this for sometime to ensure it PC version is just as good (if not better, in some ways) as the console versions. From Johan Pilestedt, CEO and Game Director for Helldivers:
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/13694/helldivers-will-storm-onto-pc-next-month.htmlThe new mission is called "Retaliatory Strike" and it will send you and your comrades into an enemy base to fight off waves of foes and liberate it. The only difference I can see here between this and the other missions is that it sounds like you'll be fighting enemies more directly in a kind of survival/horde-based fashion, as opposed to achieving set objectives around a map. If you own the game, or purchase it at any point in the future, you'll get this free of charge.
Luckily, you need not wallow in shame any longer. Helldivers: Super-Earth Ultimate Edition is out for all who love their planet. If you draft dodgers avoided service for all five wars, you can finally regain your honor.
Check out what nasty surprises the enemies of Super Earth are up against.
Everyone in the community pulled their efforts together to help in winning the first Galactic War of HELLDIVERS! Congratulations, gamers! However, the fight for peace and freedom is far from over. Many more factions in the galaxy are still out there and New Super Earth is far from being completely safe from attack. It's time that we bring in these new, independent races into the fold of Super Earth.
Arrowhead's spent some time since launch hammering out more ways to spread Democracy to worlds plagued by unbelievers. A free update to Helldivers, titled "Turning Up The Heat" is currently in the works, though the exact release date isn't known just yet.
That's why I was a little surprised to see DLC out so early. The game felt complete (for the price) when I reviewed it a few weeks ago. Then I saw the items in the DLC packages and suddenly Helldivers doesn't feel quite as complete after all.
