Access to Hellraid is achieved in Dying Light by going to the first level of the tower and entering in a room past the shop. There you'll find an arcade machine that transports you to the "game." Hellraid itself is a self contained mode that has its own small progression system and melee weapons to collect. There's also a few collectibles to be found but it's pretty light from the traditional RPG like features.
]]>The delay is said to be as a result of player feedback participating in the closed beta for the content.
The DLC is set for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and will be released on July 24th. It's priced at $9.99 and is available for pre-order on the respective digital platforms.
However! There is still hope for the those of you wanting to team up and wreck the minions of hell. Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka reported to our friends at Eurogamer that they aren't scrapping the title. "Once we deliver everything we want [For Dying Light], probably by the, I don't know, end of the third quarter this year, we will then maybe start to send some new [Hellraid] materials or information or thinking about what's the release date, something like that."
Co-Optimus was recently able to see the game first hand and are itching to play some ourselves. With no release date it may be some time until the game hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, so in the meantime check out the new footage that shows off the earlier part of an Alpha version of the game:
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/12275/smash-and-grab-20-minutes-of-hellraid-footage.htmlWe we're shown a recent build of Hellraid during a demo at E3 2014 showcasing one of the game's three modes of play - the story. Graphically the game was looking impressive, conveying a dark and dreary atmosphere while still keeping a clean color palette present. This wasn't just dull browns and grays but subtle uses of blues, golds, and whites to set the mood. The player was tasked with finding an undead monk in a monastery and with environments designed by a real architect that specializes in gothic design, they looked incredibly detailed with stone arched doorways, large paned windows, and much more.
Hellraid has undergone some changes based on developer experiences and player feedback. The game has expanded to three different modes, highlighted in this fancy new trailer.
Hellraid aims to shatter the notion that mostly decayed corpses cannot work together as a team. The devs are so dedicated to the cause of promoting undead companionship they've gone ahead and produced a trailer, showing how the AI and animations work together for these bags of bones.
Check out the dev diary talking about their experiences.
If you stop to think about first person perspectives in games, you may just give yourself a nosebleed. You may be seeing from the PoV of the hero, but does your vision act like theirs? What about those strange movements you see out of the corner of your eye? Games have always struggled to give a sense of the peripheral so Techland has come up with one idea that will at least allow people to choose how much they see.
No matter where you stand on the delayed games issue, it’s safe to say that nearly every time a release date is pushed back the game is better because of it. Luckily Techland has provided some details on the new features we can look forward to in this exciting title.
Check it out.
