Ironclad Tactics Add-On Campaign Released

The steampunk strategy game Ironclad Tactics was released in September 2013 and has been powering along with updates ever since. The last big patch added a new game mode along with a handful of extra features, including URL-based deck exporting. The main campaign sends you to an alternate version of North America during the Civil War. Create and manage decks of cards to form your basic tactical maneuvers, then face off against AI opponents as you battle your way across the continent.

Ironclad Tactics 50% off for 48 Hours

For the next 48 hours (less than 44 and counting. at the time of writing), Steam is offering Ironclad Tactics at half price. This includes the two pack as well as the Deluxe Edition, with the option to upgrade your standard copy to a better-than-standard one on the cheap as well. Deluxe Edition includes the first two add-on campaigns scheduled for release in the near future, digital goodies like an artbook, the soundtrack and a printable papercraft model, and giftable copies of SpaceChem.

Ironclad Tactics Free Update Adds New Game Plus Mode

The alternate history American Civil War steampunk strategy game Ironclad Tactics has been humming right along since its release in September. Our co-op review pretty much said the game was the bee's knees, and it's especially marvelous when you bring a friend along. Just over a month later, a free update adds what that one guy who mastered the game in a single evening said was necessary: higher difficulty. Once you finish the standard campaign, a new game plus mode will become available, cranking up the challenge and allowing you to unlock cards previously only available in multiplayer. Good for completing your card collection, bad for anyone who already thought the game was difficult!
