First and foremost, the final build of It Takes Two still looks and plays as phenomenally as the preview. The graphics, specifically the texture of the game, are absolutely standout. Bringing the miniature world to life and making every object in the game look and feel exactly like their real life counterpart.
]]>Now we're back with the second level in the game, continuing with highlights of our co-op hands on preview. While we're still "stuck in the shed' you can see how the puzzles progressed from our last run in. All of that culminates with a brutal boss battle against an angry tool box hellbent on chopping us up or dropping us to our deaths.
Up first is "The Shed" - the very first level of the game which takes place in the backyard of our lead character's. In it you'll get a feel for some of the different puzzles the game has to offer, how the characters have different abilities, and the overall tone of the game.
It Takes Two is being billed as a romantic comedy with a colorful and playful ascetic that will instantly remind you of a Pixar movie with a splash of Little Big Planet. Players take control of a married couple on the verge of divorce. You and your co-op partner will help Cody and May learn how to overcome their differences after being literally shrunk into the world as clay dolls caused by their child's tears. I know, I know, that doesn't sound very light hearted or funny - but the production values and writing are absolutely pro and easily draw you into the narrative. Co-Optimus was recently invited to go hands on with the first few hours of the game and to listen to Josef Fares talk about their creation.

His first release, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was released to critical fanfare in 2013. Following that, he went on to form Hazelight Studios, who put out the co-op jailbreak title, A Way Out, in 2018.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/16680/it-takes-two-is-headed-for-release-in-march.htmlFares' first title, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was a fairly revered indie title known for its unique, heart-wrenching story. A Way Out was met with less reverence, but its co-op design choices were certainly innovative. Hopefully, he and his team can utilize the experience from their previous games to make It Takes Two a more satisfying blend of story and gameplay.
