Put on your party hats and fire wildly into a crowd of shambling horrors, preferably in slow motion. Killing Floor has just celebrated its fifth year since release, and Tripwire Interactive has scoured their databases to give us some stats on their zombie-slaughtering co-op survival horror. And really, who doesn't love huge info ...
The update is free for anyone that owns the game, which is even on sale till the end of the event for Steam. You'll gun down (or set ablaze, or blow up, or carve into with a friggin' katana as if you had no idea what guns are) various new redneck models in place for the standard specimens which are ever so fun to dismember. As in Killing Floor proper, teamwork is paramount. Getting separated from your team will result in you being served as the main course for any zombified hillbillies with appetites.
Let's this get this out of the way: Killing Floor is free to play until July 11th, so start downloading it now if you're interested. It's a cooperative FPS that features wave-based maps and a new objective-based mode for up to six online players. It's been out since 2009 and it's good summer fun. Oh, sweet! Killing Floor is free to play this weekend! For those of you who don't know, Killing Floor is a PC horror themed FPS that offers online co-op for up to six players. We reviewed it way back in 2009, and we really enjoyed the title, giving it a 4.5/5. Not only is the game free to play, there's also a "Twisted Christmas" event going on. That's right, you can blast mutant reindeer and gruesome gingerbread men into tiny little bite-sized pieces. The "Twisted Christmas" event also includes new weapons, new achievements, and a new map. It's that time of year... when you're getting pretty sick of all the holiday cheer. Why not take out your frustrations on the whole "glad tidings" bit with some good old fashioned zombie killing? Killing Floor is bringing its players the "Twisted Christmas" event, starting December 14 and running through January 4. All of the normal zombies and other enemies will be replaced by holiday themed specimens, and there's even a brand new level: Santa's Evil Lair. (I suppose we all knew deep down inside that those elves were a bit diabolical.) If that isn't enough for you, there are new achievements, including 13 Christmas themed ones, taking the total up over 130!

The killer PC game where you and your friends face off against hordes of undead is getting some new characters in a free DLC pack. The Killing Floor has just unveiled a brand new DLC pack loaded with fire. The "Incindiary Content Pack" offers a few new burning details before its free download goes active on Steam. All users that already own The Killing Floor will receive The Incindiary Content Pack automatically. Those who don't own the game yet - get on it. This stuff is killer.

Now that uber game service Steam is available for Macs, more and more titles are being released for Apple's long neglected (by game companies, at least) platform. One new addition is Killing Floor, a strong co-op zombie slaying title. We thought rather highly of the title, and it's on sale for 33% off the standard $20 price. Best of all, cross-platform play is enabled, meaning you can slaughter hordes of undead with a friend regardless of their preference for a computer.

We were pretty surprised at how fun Killing Floor was when it was released earlier this year with its 6 player co-op gameplay. At first we thought it was nothing more than a Left 4 Dead clone, but we soon came to realize the game did quite a bit to set itself apart.
