The jury is still out on whether Kinect Star Wars is going to be the Star Wars game we have all been waiting for. This Xbox 360 Kinect exclusive is out on the 4th April and has been well hyped. One element of hype that has certainly stuck in my Rancor's craw is the sterile preview trailers that have fake families 'enjoying' the game. Not one to change tack, LucasArts have produced a launch trailer with an all new fake family trying out lightsabers, the force and being a Rancor. When I turned 7, my Dad threw me a Star Wars themed birthday party. This consisted of all the kids dressing up as Star Wars characters and chasing my Dad (playing Darth Vader) around the garden with rolled up newspapers. Nothing I have seen since has come close in terms of re-enacting the original Star Wars trilogy (certainly not the second trilogy), but Kinect Star Wars has the potential. Two new preview videos have surfaced that give an impression of what the game will provide.

Kinect Star Wars may have been delayed, but it's finally arriving on April 3rd, as well as its limited-edition console bundle. Unfortunately, this is two days late to be an April Fool's joke, because the rumored Galactic Dance-Off mode will be coming along for the ride as well.

Are these the droids you are looking for? Microsoft has announced another special edition bundle for the Xbox 360 console. The 320GB console is painted to look like R2-D2 while the gold plated controller will remind you of C3-PO. It also comes with a white colored Kinect sensor and of course a copy of the two player co-op Kinect Star Wars game.

This morning LucasArts sent a fact sheet out on the Holonet for Kinect Star Wars, and it confirmed two player local co-op support for at least one of its multiple modes. According to our on-the-scene Galactic News reporter, Nick Sunrunner, the gameplay looks like it has something to be desired.
