From now through July 20th, Xbox Live Gold members with their Xbox 360 systems can pick up Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for 75% off. It may not have four player co-op like its surprise sequel, but the puzzles are arguably better and the gameplay a bit more focused since it's only Lara and her spear-chucking friend. Xbox One owners will have to settle for some Battlefield 4 add-ons and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. No spears for you, sorry.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Goes Free on XBLA This January

Along with Sleeping Dogs, Lara Croft GOL will be available on January 16th on XBLA for those needing to get back into her original, veteran tomb raiding self. Sure, this past year's Tomb Raider was a fantastic reboot to the series as a whole, but their wouldn't even be modern envisioning without her legendary past games to look back on. We called GOL one of the best co-op titles to experience back in 2010, and we certainly uphold our high regard for it now. For those of you who aren't familiar with the title, the game is a 1-2 player isometric shooter that also has many different puzzle elements sprinkled throughout it. Using the environment to their advantage, as well as to solve each level's puzzles, players must work together to kill any enemies that get in their way.

Crystal Dynamics Confirms No New Guardian of Light

We've heard rumblings of this sort in the past, but now it's pretty hard to ignore. Speaking to Official Xbox Magazine UK, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that not only is there no sequel in the works for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, but nothing further is planned for the sub-series in the future. For a game that had one of the best co-op experiences in the last several years, that's very sad news indeed.

The Xbox Live Deal of the Week offers a great co-op game at a great price. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is 50% off. You can pick up the two player co-op title for 600 Microsoft points, which translates to about $7.50. We gave the isometric action/puzzler a 4.5 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light also happened to win our coveted Best Downloadable Co-Op Title of the Year Award. A slew of DLC is available for half off as well.

Lara Croft's Social Life Steams Up

Five new downloadable packs are now available on Steam for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. This little isometric gem won our Best Downloadable Co-Op Game of the Year award for 2010. The first pack actually comes as a free title update and adds the titular characters from the Kane and Lynch games.

Raziel, Lynch, Kane and Kain Guarding the Light with Lara Croft Now

The votes were tallied in the contest of the DLC - and it looks like Kain and Raziel have won as the first set of co-op characters to download for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The duo beat out Kane and Lynch as the other set of characters that would be available in the game, both sets of characters are available to download now - one free, one not.

Good news, iGamers! Co-Optimus has recently confirmed that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has co-op on the iPhone and iPad. We loved this isometric action title, which got a great co-op review. The iOS versions are identical to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade versions, minus the DLC. Co-op is available through wi-fi between any of the devices - that means iPhone gamers can play with iPad gamers and vice versa.

Crystal Dynamics' buxom spelunker is promiscuously making her way around the block, it seems. Tomorrow, December 16th, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light flirts with the iOS by way of iTunes. Complete with wifi and Bluetooth co-op, the full game (minus DLC packs) will retail for a measly $6.99 on the iPhone and $9.99 on the iPad.
