[UPDATE]: The official Twitter account for LEGO Dimensions posted this announcement on October 23. Looks like further development is nixed.
]]>The final three franchises planned for Year Two are the Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go!, and Beetlejuice, all of which will be available across several franchise-specific packs.
The Goonies Level Pack includes a complete level of The Goonies gameplay where players can help Sloth and Chunk escape the Fratelli hideout and join the rest of the Goonies on their search for One Eyed Willy’s treasure. Players can use Sloth’s Super Strength to smash through walls or play as Chunk and use his infamous Truffle Shuffle.
The two big packs here are the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" Story Pack, and the "Sonic the Hedgehog" Level Pack. The former includes a new hero figure (Newt Scamander) and a new vehicle (the Niffler) along with six new levels that follow the story of the film/play/book. It also lets you change the LEGO Gateway on the Portal Pad to the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) building. These story packs are the new tier of expansions for LEGO Dimensions this year, with the first one based on the new "Ghostbusters" movie from this past summer.
The third Story Pack, which is a new pack this cycle and includes new levels, characters, gadgets/vehicles, and a new gateway design for the Toy Pad, will be based on the "LEGO Batman Movie" that's slated for a February 10, 2017 release. This pack will include Batgirl and Robin minifigures, a Batwing vehicle, and a LEGO Gateway bricks to build the infamous Bat-Computer on the pad. The Story Pack will also include six new story levels that will "provide a deep, story-driven gameplay experience with iconic DC characters" and a new Adventure World to explore based around the movie.
The new figure will not only be able to use the same powers as her cousin, which includes laser beams, flight, and super strength, she'll also be able to tap into the powers of the Red Lantern ring. With the ring she'll be able to fire red bolts and lasers as well as use "Lantern Constructs." It's not clear what that means in-game, but I'm sure there will be some doors/switches/other devices that will require that ability in order to get some hidden item.

The pack is listed for 39.99 pounds sterling, which will translate to $49.99 over in the States, and appears to be slated for a November release.
When the fall comes around, things kick off with Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible "level packs," Harry Potter and Adventure Time "team packs," and an A-Team "fun pack." As a quick breakdown of what all of that means, the level packs include a new level, new character, and a couple new gadgets or vehicles, the team packs include characters and gadgets/vehicles, and the fun packs include a character and a gadget or vehicle. All of this new content will be compatible with the existing LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, so you won't need to buy anything but the expansions.
The big feature of any level pack for LEGO Dimensions is a new playable level for the game. With the Midway Arcade Level Pack, you'll get that and over 20 classic arcade games. That's right, Warner Bros has gone ahead and just stealth released a "Midway Arcade Hits" collection. Inside of another game! Who does that?!
The Ghostbusters pack includes "A Spook Central Adventure" level that gives players a chance traverse through a ghost infested New York. Expect to see some familiar faces, namely the main antagonist Gozer. Build the minifigure Peter Venkman with his Proton Pack, the Ecto-1 vehicle and Ghost Trap to help save New York from a marshmallowy demise.
If you want to bounce on over to Bedrock, or Future Earth or whatever the Jetson family calls their domicile in the sky, it'll cost you. You'll need help from inter-dimension being The Doctor, and also, for some reason, the Simpsons. Video games are weird.
