In case you're unfamiliar with the Access programs, they're subscription-based services available on both Xbox One in the form of EA Access and PC in the form of Origin Access. You plop down a few bucks a month (or a discounted amount for a year), and have access to a number of titles in EA's library.
]]>In a new post that went up a few days ago, the developer stated that there will be a few new additions to the co-op in the form of new "kits" (i.e., playable characters in the mode) and a new assault rifle (the Sovoa), as well as new limited time APEX missions every weekend. These updates will roll out over the course of the next couple months and there will be a special N7 Celebration event in November. However, the post also states that while there may be some scattering of updates to address quality-of-life reports from players, aside from that "there are no planned patches." In other words, this may be it for Mass Effect: Andromeda.
The patch notes, which can be read in full over here, are rather vague about the whole thing and only say "also added Platinum difficulty to Multiplayer, featuring a new mixed enemy faction." However, the original tweet that teased this new mode also included a video of a Batarian, one of the alien species that made its debut (in a manner of speaking) in Mass Effect 2. Then, just a few moments ago, the Mass Effect Twitter account announced the new APEX mission (Firebase Magma) that gives players a chance to unlock a new class: the Batarian Scrapper.

The pack contains five new costumes for the grand total of nothing that allows you to dress Sackboy and his pals up like various races from the new action RPG.

Mass Effect: Andromeda does not scale its missions to the number of players - meaning you'll be forced to fill a game with public players if you only have one or two friends handy.
The first APEX Mission, titled "Drack's Missing Scouts," lasts until 1:00 PM EDT on Monday, March 27. The event features the "Firebase Paradox" map, which will only be available during the event, and tasks your squad with tracking down some missing Krogan scouts on the kett-infested world. Alongside the map, a new kit (the Krogan Gladiator) and a new weapon (the Ruzad Shotgun) have been added to the in-game Store packs. Fortunately, those are permanent additions and won't disappear next week.
The four player online co-op mode is completely separate and optional from the single player campaign. Players will choose a character, a loadout, and some items to bring into each mission as you take on successive waves of enemies, complete objectives, and eventually escape the map.
The previous game had five additional maps added all for free and Aaryn Flynn from Bioware has confirmed on Twitter that this price point is the case once more.

How else are we supposed to know that our 2005 Lenovo won't quite make the cut, or that our custom-made, LED-ridden, $2,500 rig won't even break a sweat in the game's most chaotic moments? The folks over at EA and Bioware just recently reached this milestone, and the results can be found below:
The pre-order trailer arrived on the PlayStation EU YouTube channel late last week and amongst all the single-player goodies that are offered, like a skin for your space vehicle (the Nomad) and a "Deep Space Explorer" armor for the protagonist, you'll also get a "Multiplayer Boost Pack." Based on what's shown, it appears this pack is just experience boosters so you can level your particular co-op class faster.
