Minecraft Updates Releasing Soon for Console Versions

Firstly, PS3 Edition will be getting a whole slew of characters skins from some well known Sony franchises, such as: Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Killzone, Heavy Rain, and Sly Cooper. Another Skin Pack called the "Battle and Beasts Pack" will also included, but with much less iconic characters from the media. Things like cavemen, koala, octopus, and more will be available. We're glad to see more options here for the PS3 community!

The late December 2013 release of Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition finally allowed PS3 owners to join in all the crafting fun. It's a few updates and a handful of features behind its cousins, but some Minecraft is better than no Minecraft. The Xbox 360 version of the game has been out since May 2012, selling over 10 million copies in that time. The PC release has shifted 13 million copies since its mid-2009 release.

Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition Now Available on PSN Store

Just in time for the holidays too, Mojang's mighty masterpiece, Minecraft, is now available to all PlayStation 3 owners via the PlayStation Network (no physical copies just yet). Available on PC, Xbox 360, and mobile devices, it's (finally) PlayStation's turn to dive into its massive co-op gameplay. This version of Minecraft will contain all the content available to date on the Xbox 360 Edition (including downloadable Texture/Skin Packs) and will be updated alongside it. It is currently going for a $19.99 price tag, with an 85 MB file size.
