The Halloween texture pack swaps Minecraft's visuals and interface around to give it a spooky, autumney setting. It happens to be free, so why not, right? The Steampunk pack doesn't have anything to do with the time of year, but it still looks great. Airships, skeletons with brass monocles, zombies in bell diving suits, and plenty of Victorian-inspired block patterns. This pack will set you back the equivalent of 1 USD, depending on region. Both packs can be applied to new or existing worlds in single player as well as co-op, so you don't have to tear down your tree fort just to give it a little Halloween cheer.
]]>Six of the Doctors from Dr. Who, including the 12th Doctor, Peter Capaldi, will be transformed into square-shouldered Minecraft avatars this September, along with a couple of other characters from the series, including the Daleks. Word around the Tardis is this will just be the first of several Dr. Who skin packs, so no need to start the "but wheres my fav doctor!" arguments on Twitter just yet. The additional packs will release during the show's current run, so you won't have to wait too long.
Minecraft 360 has proven very popular over the past couple of years and has seen more skin packs than a dermatologist's in-tray. The latest is Guardians themed and will allow you to dress your avatars in many of the different characters from the new film including; Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax.

Force. A bunch of modern day military personnel skins are also available in this one (for all you Battlefield/Call of Duty fans), as well as some wackier ones like the horse wearing a tuxedo. Like all the Skin Pack DLC's before it, Skin Pack 6 is being offered for only $1.99. Do check out the gallery and the preview video (courtesy of Youtuber Bigbst4t2) below:
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/11970/skin-pack-6-dlc-is-now-available-in-minecraft-xbox-360-edition.htmlThe pack includes 31 music tracks from the Halo franchise and skins for iconic characters such as Master Chief, Cortana, Sergeant Johnson, Arbiter, and others. On top of textures, a new interface design, and all the craftable items, locations from the Halo games are built and ready to explore including Valhalla, Blood Gulch, Sandtrap and more. A few vehicles have been thrown into the mix as well.
The menus and user interface also see a face lift, as they will more reflect the Halo games you've become familiar with. Lastly, you can expect play while listening to music from the Halo games, though specific titles of tracks have not yet been announced.
The biggest highlights for Update 16 are fixes for numerous invisibility bugs. Sometimes after taking a swim in lava or going toe-to-toe with a Creeper's ka-boom, players would respawn as, well, ghosts. Teleporting also occasionally produced invisible players, as did hopping through a nether gate two characters as a time. As of 16, no more! Many of the other fixes are audio/visual in nature, such as tweaking lava drops and re-tuning Noteblocks so they're on pitch. Oh, and if you were having fun breeding Ocelots with cats, you can't do that anymore. Sorry.
Last year, the 360 Edition saw the release of a "Birthday Skin" DLC pack. This year, not only is it free, but they are releasing a second "Birthday Skin" Pack, also free! If you're concerned these packs will just be variations of Minecraft mascot Steve in different styles of party hats, don't worry. You'll get skins of characters from Fable, Banjo-Kazooie, Viva PiƱata, and Halo. Both packs are available (once again, for free) from May 9th to the 18th.
Not a lot is known about the DLC yet except for one teaser image and a statement:
Today, players will be able to purchase yet another of 4J Studios' "Skin Pack" DLC's, this time with a Spiderman theme. Apart from "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man", a fantastic assortment of Spiderman characters (including many of his legendary villains), are also included in the "Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack"; 35 in total. Some of the more notable ones being of The Rhino, Doctor Octopus, and Carnage. Please take gander at the video below for a special Minecraft trailer for the Skin Pack:
But that's ok, right? Minecraft is a complex game, bugs will pop up from time to time. Update 15 addresses almost two dozen of these bugs. It doesn't add anything new (unless you count "playability"), but for everyone who has been struggling with audio issues and blocks reappearing after they've been mined, 15 is your new friend.
But fear not, 360 users! Phil Spencer has announced via Twitter the 360 save files will be transferable to your shiny new Xbox Ones. You can carry your legacy with you, and abandon all fear of losing your cozy world.
