The game's next DLC, "Sun's Out Buns Out," falls into the "free" category and arrives for PC on July 5th.  The console versions shouldn't be too far behind, but no specific date has been given for them yet.  In "Sun's Out Buns Out," you'll be commandeering your culinary crew to deliver fresh, summer-y treats to your famished customers.  Two canine chefs will be added to aid in this task, as well as five new kitchens, new recipes, new hazards, and (gasp) sauce dispensers.

These games are available anywhere, but if you’re looking for a unique co-op gameplay experience, there may only be one way to go: indie co-op games.

Alongside the base game, the "Gourmet Edition" will contain four DLC packs adding new levels, items, chefs, and recipes.  It'll also include a fifth cosmetic pack offering a few extra options for the game's goofy chefs.  There's a whole lot of content in here, so check out the official descriptions for a better understanding:

The new content adds two new chefs to use (Present Head Chef and Reindeer Chef), five new recipes to cook/bake, new enemies in the Horde Mode, and five "festive kitchens" that are makeovers of kitchens from each of the paid DLC expansions ("Campfire Cook Off," "Night of the Hangry Horde," and "Carnival of Chaos"). If you've got your platform of choice to auto-update your games, you'll have this content already and can go to "Extras" in the main menu, then "Seasonal Updates" to access it. If you don't auto-update, then you'll need to download the update first before you play.

"Carnival of Chaos" rounds out the game's season pass, with "Night of the Hangry Horde" and "Campfire Cook Off" preceding it.  There's not much out for it yet besides a tidy, 20-second reveal trailer, but even that gives you all the information you could want.  Presumably, some hapless carnival-goers need food to puke all over the rides, and you and your friends will be the ones giving it to them.

The "Night of the Hangry Horde" DLC introduces a brand new horde mode in which players must work together to feed the Unbread before their castle is overrun.  Coins will still be rewarded for each successful dish, but now players will be able to use those coins to repair the castle and unlock shortcuts around the kitchen.  Sounds like a great (and also stressful) time!

The "Campfire Cook Off" DLC pack is headed to Overcooked 2 on April 18th, and with it will come twelve new levels, a new map, four new chefs, two new recipes, and some brand new mechanics (presumably themed around campfires).  The Overcooked series is a favorite around these parts, so you just know we're excited for another chance to dive in and yell at our friends for somehow managing to burn water.  The teaser trailer, below, will give you a glimpse of what this latest DLC is all about.

Ghost Town Games has themed this new, free DLC around celebrating the Chinese New Year, with new kitchens and chefs styled as such.  In case you thought chopping food while being chased by a Chinese Dragon wasn't enough of a culinary challenge, the update also brings in a brand new mechanic, the wok.  I guess I can finally know what it feels like to cook up a stir fry while subsumed in mortal terror.

Sure, it's not the D-Day crossover level everyone (me) wanted, but it does provide a dozen new story levels, new chefs, new recipes, and new tools to assist you in helping/annoying your friends.  Plus, once you've completed the additional levels, you can run back through them in New Game Plus mode to try and obtain each of their *gasp* fourth stars.

Luckily, we don't have to wait long, as whatever is being added to the game will be available on October 3rd.  That's not too far from now, and for anyone reading this article on October 4th or later, it's already happened!  Isn't it crazy how time works?
