The quick backstory to "Retribution" is Blackwatch, the covert ops (and plausibly deniable) portion of the Overwatch peacekeeping group, was tasked with a mission in Venice, Italy eight years prior to the events of the current game. Things go bad (shootout in the streets ala "Heat" bad) and the team, comprised of Genji, McCree, Moira, and Gabriel Reyes (who later becomes "Reaper"), have to fight their way through Talon forces to get to an extraction point.

"Retribution" is set in Venice, Italy eight years prior to the current events of the game. Within the context of the lore, this is a covert op conducted by Blackwatch the, let's say, secret/shadier side of the otherwise "pristine" Overwatch group. The four-person team is comprised of Gabriel Reyes (later Reaper and, at this time, head of Blackwatch), Genji, Moira, and McCree. As the trailer indicates, things don't go well and what should have been a quiet mission goes a bit more public than anyone would like, thus putting the head of Overwatch, Jack Morrison (aka Soldier: 76), into the spotlight.

The biggest news from the world of Overwatch lately was the addition of a new playable character, Doomfist. Within the lore/world of Overwatch, Doomfist leads the evil organization Talon. Within the game, Doomfist is a melee-focused character that utilizes special moves that, in some ways, are reminiscent of a fighting game character (e.g., his "Rising Uppercut") and are most effective when chained together to take out your foes.

You can watch our run through the mode below, which takes around 15 minutes to complete each time. The default difficulty is fairly easy and the hard difficulty in the all heroes mode, becomes frustrating quite quickly. 

Starting earlier this April and ending on May 2nd, Uprising centers around an Overwatch (the organization) mission that took place in the King's Row region.  Mirroring the mission itself, the event's co-op brawl is a wave-based mode in which four players are tasked with defeating the nefarious Null Sector.  Check out the trailer below:

With the "Winter Wonderland" event drawn to a close, fans of Blizzard's team-based shooter need something to occupy them until the next themed event. I'm guessing it'll be Valentine's related. Anyways, the new map is set in the Arabian Desert and features some nifty looking flying cars and, like, a scarab-boat thing? That's not in the official write-up, of course, which has this to say:

During this event, there's a new PvP brawl to check out (Mei's Snowball Offensive) and new Winter Wonderland loot boxes containing a slew of winter-themed goodies. There are new skins for all the characters, like Tracer dressed up like an elf or McCree looking like some kind of Ebenzer Scrooge, as well as new emotes and new character intros to enjoy, like Widowmaker holding up some mistletoe then stomping the camera into the ground. Finally, King's Row and Hanamura have been decked out with some snow and holiday decorations, so you can enjoy that as well.

Dubbed "Junkenstein's Revenge," up to four players can team up to battle against waves of enemies and bosses. The one catch here is that you won't be able to play this mode with just any Overwatch character you want, you're limited to just Ana, Hanzo, Soldier: 76, and McCree. Even if you can't play as your favorite toon, you can still unlock some new appropriately themed items for them. All of the in-game loot boxes, either earned or purchased with real-world money, have been replaced with special jack o' lantern boxes that contain the new Halloween-themed skins, sprays, highlight intros, emotes, and more.

Last night we checked out the bots on both Medium and Hard difficulty to see just how much of a challenge they would be. Would it be a fair fight that felt like the trust multiplayer experience? Or would we see some pretty idiotic behavior?
