In the last title update, Nintendo patched in a brand new stylus-based option for controlling the game. Now, players can choose to command their captains and Pikmin armies through the GamePad touch screen alone. Essentially, this is a nice update for players who are most comfortable with the 3DS way of things.
]]>This is the second batch of DLC for the title, bringing a total of 4 new challenge levels to the “Battle Enemies!” mode. The idea in this mode is to, well, battle various enemy creatures! Try to defeat as many as possible within a set time limit and set a high score on the Pikmin 3 online, global leaderboards. Many of these levels are found directly from the Story Mode in the game, with many familiar areas will being perfect for veterans to master.
Among the many Nintendo announcements revealed in the video, Satoru Iwata mentioned that new Mission Mode challenges have been added to the current batch of “Collect Treasure!” levels. The new “Collect Treasure Pack” DLC includes challenges #7-#10, where up to two players must to work together to collect as much treasure as possible within a small time limit. While the full DLC costs the small amount of $1.99, however, gamers will be granted a single challenge level to play for free when they update their software. As with all Nintendo titles, DLC downloads must be made through the eShop channel found on the Home screen.
