The relaunching of the Rayman titles back in 2011, starting with Origins, marked a great period in Ubisoft's platforming history. It was the first title to use the newly developed UbiArt Framework, which was also used for the follow-up, Rayman Legends, as well as Valiant Hearts and Child of Light, and really showed off what modern platformers could do. Michel Ancel, the Creative Director for the game, even worked in a message into the whole thing that he wants you to discover.

Rayman Origins Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

Both Rayman Origins and its follow-up, Rayman Legends, are two of my favorite platforming titles that have been released in the past few years. They are incredibly gorgeous and bring their own style to the action. If you're a fan of platformers and haven't checked either one out, then I strongly encourage you to do so now. Both support four player couch co-op and, thanks to the backwards compatibility, both are now available digitally via the Xbox Marketplace ($14.99 for Origins and $19.99 for Legends).

The latest Humble Bundle features a lot of Ubisoft titles, including both of the aforementioned games along with Grow Home, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Far Cry 3, and more... depending on what you pay. In fact, if you feel like dropping $75, you can go ahead and get all of that and pre-order Tom Clancy's The Division. Of all the various pre-order bonuses for these games, that may be the best one. Get what is shaping up to be a pretty good co-op title along with three others and a few more games to boot? That's quite the bundle!

The Xbox Live Countdown to 2013 Sale Knocks Co-Op Prices Way Down

We're a smidge late in reporting this since it started on Tuesday, but the Xbox Live Countdown to 2013 Sale may be the single best sale the Xbox 360 has ever had. Each day until December 31st consists of themed daily sales, with today's Platformers sale knocking co-op standout Rayman Origins down to just ten bucks. Rayman Origins Sequel Possibly Leaked Through an Online Marketing Survey

I have no doubt in my mind that the widely praised platformer title, Rayman Origins, will be getting a well deserved sequel in the future. From a few screenshots taken from a marketing survey, the type of game the sequel will be like has seeming been hinted at. So far, it looks like it involves a vast world including Greek gods and dragons, both of which are equally viable in a formula for “awesome”.

Rayman Origins Coming to PC with the Co-Op that the Vita Version is Without

Ubisoft has announced a PC version of Rayman Origins with a release date of March 29th, 2012. Rayman Origins is an excellent co-op game that we gave a 4.5 out of 5 thanks to a great platforming experience shared by all. The PC version will retain the four player local co-op support, but that's not the best news.

Have you checked out the demo for Rayman Origins? Did you know it supports four player local co-op? I just signed in three other controllers and gave it a whirl, and it appears to be a worthy co-op platformer. I'll have to try again with three other people. A one-year-old and two pugs do not make good co-op partners. Check out this video and see all the different ways you can beat the game. You can expect our Co-Op Review soon.

No 'Arm in Watching the Rayman Origins Launch Trailer

The AAA co-op games have been coming thick and fast in the past few weeks, but there is still room for more co-op action in the form of Rayman Origins; due out on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii on the 15th November. To celebrate the launch, Ubisoft got completely legless (and armless) with a new launch trailer.
