Sins of a Solar Empire Patched with a Caveat

Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity/Diplomacy has just received a giant patch with a few dozen changes included. The patch brings the game up to Version 1.3 and while most of the changes are for gameplay and balancing, there are a few tweaks to the game's graphics, interface and AI.

Space strategy simulation co-op sounds pretty intense, and it is. So intense that Sins of a Solar Empire has required a bit of patching to optimize. Co-optimus recently received a huge list from Stardock of patches for Sins, including interface changes, gameplay, game engine, AI and others.

We don't typically report on mods for games that often, but every once in a while, something comes along that we have to share. A rather... cinematic mod for Sins of a Solar Empire gives the game a Star Wars-themed makeover. But the changes go beyond the cosmetic, with two new races, over two dozen new ships, character portraits, music, and lots more. They even changed the color of ship lasers to match those in the films!

There are some say that digital distribution will eventually kill retail products, I'm not sure if that's true, but if these weekend sales on Impulse and Steam are anything to go by - they'll certainly finish off my wallet. This weekend Impulse is offering Sins of a Solar Empire for only $4.

Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity Pack Now Available

It seems like it was just yesterday when word of Ironclad Games' Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity pack reached our ears. December and January have come and gone so fast, and now this all-in-one bundle is available for your co-op enjoyment at the reasonable price of $39.95 through Stardock's Impulse platform, or local retail outlets. As we mentioned before this pack not only includes the full version of Sins of a Solar Empire, a title we rather enjoyed, but the two expansions - Entrenchment and Diplomacy - as well. Trust us when we say, that's a lot of co-op gaming in one box, and a good way to spend a possible three-day weekend.

Sins of a Solar Empire Patched in Anticipation of Diplomacy Expansion

Diplomacy, Stardock's latest expansion to their popular 4X strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire, is slated to hit any day now. In anticipation of its release, the company has released a patch that fixes a few known issues with the original game as well as the other expansion pack, Entrenchment. Additionally, they've released a few more screenshots of Diplomacy that highlight some interesting new features of the expansion, including a new point system that's used for diplomatic relations, and new computer opponent difficulty levels.

Stardock has announced the Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity pack. What exactly is the Trinity Pack? It's Sins of a Solar Empire and its two expansions: Entrenchment and Diplomacy. Of course the latter isn't quite out yet, but if you preorder either it or the Trinity Pack you'll get in the beta for Diplomacy immediately.

Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy Expansion Up for Preorder

Stardock has announced that preorders are now being taken for the upcoming micro-expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire entitled Diplomacy. The DLC adds faction status and trade pact options within the game, as well as the ability to issue new missions to other players. The biggest addition is a brand new diplomatic skill tree which adds over thirty technologies.

Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy Beta This Fall, Release Next Winter

The next Sins of a Solar Empire expansion packed entitled Diplomacy is scheduled to hit a public beta this Fall, that according to a Stardock employee blog post. Diplomacy will add new diplomacy features and new diplomatic tech-tree options to research, including the ability to form treaties with other alien races and trade treaties with other races.
