The setting for "Heartland" is Trumbull Valley, the location of the first State of Decay, so if you played that, be sure to keep your eye out for some familiar landmarks and locations. From the story perspective, you'll choose to play as Quincy and his partner Helena, or Larisse and her aunt Fiona. Both are searching for someone in Trumbull and will face some big challenges as there a lot more zombies with the blood plague so you'll be up against a whole more "bloaters, screamers, ferals, and juggernauts."

Okay, we may be going back in time a bit with this latest update, but what the new weaponry may lack in technological advances, it makes up for in how goshdarn cool it is to fire a Thompson into a horde of the undead.

The new game mode is being described as a "replayable zombie siege experience," but we all know they're just trying to avoid saying "horde mode." Here's what they're saying about it:

The DLC costs $4.99 (or free if you got the Ultimate Edition of the game) and not only adds three new vehicles, but also three melee weapons (The Freedom Ringer, Grillmeister, and BBQ Fork), two ranged weapons (Pyro Launcher and Starshank Launcher), and some festive decoys that spray fireworks all over.

I was a big fan of the original State of Decay when it dropped in the summer of 2013 and sunk a decent amount of time into it. It was a game that, at the time, definitely felt like it should have co-op. 5 years later, that idea has finally been realized in State of Decay 2.

Both of the trailers are intense and carry the dirty survival feeling that State of Decay 2 brings with it.

State of Decay released across Xbox 360 and PC in 2013 and later came to Xbox One. While the first title was single player only, the sequel is set to feature 4-Player Drop-In / Drop-Out Co-Op upon its release on May 22nd 2018. The video below covers everything from base sizes and locations, watchtowers, using doors, zombie sieges and more, but at the 21:00 minute mark the team addresses Co-Op specifically, talking about how base building allows players joining a friend’s world to use the friend’s presumably higher leveled base to make supplies.
