For a limited time, players can try Sunset Overdrive out through free trial made available by Insomniac. Anyone who is an Xbox One Gold subscriber has the can to download the game at absolutely no cost starting today through June 15th. The free trial gives players the chance to play the game for a total of 3 hours; plenty of time to experience it's craziness. Additionally, the full game, the deluxe edition, and the Season Pass are all also on sale (33% off) if the game is worthy enough for a purchase.

Though you can only find information on the latter issue at my personal vlog site, "yourealreadyabillionaireinsidemyhead.org", we here at Co-optimus can fill you in on the former right now!  The Xbox One exclusive's finally DLC is due out April 1st and allows the player to finally take the fight to Fizzco and their ornery robots.  You won't be going it vanilla-style, though, as two new amps and two new traps are coming with the content pack to help you along the way.  Watch Insomniac's video below to see how they work.

Following the offshore antics of "Mystery of the Mooil Rig", this newest expansion offers a new sci-fi zone that players can traipse around in and use as an excuse to toss around tons of sick references.  You can be all, "Bro, you ripping apart that Fizzbot reminded me of the time Idaho straight up wrecked the Fish Speaker in Frank Herbert's 'God Emperor of Dune.'"  Then the two of you can bump fists and turn up the newest Fall Out Boy record.

Wait a second...no.  No, this can't be!  Just when you had broken free from the game's neon-infused tendrils, Insomniac Games has added three more achievements?!  Well, if you're gonna get the jump on Todd Chumpington, you better find out what's keeping you from your glorious 100% record, stat!  Check em out here:

It's looking like the new weapons focus specifically on crowd control and AOE to give the player a fighting chance when they find themselves surrounded by baddies.  The Rivet Blaster looks especially handy for those of you who want to plan your assaults ahead of time for maximum Style.  I can't imagine how devastating these weapons are in the 8 player co-op mode, Chaos Squad, but I'm willing to bet it involves a lot of screaming.

The "Mooil Rig" DLC, arriving on December 23rd, will be bringing all new missions, challenges, character moves, weapons, and a ton of other bonuses like traps, Amps, Chaos Squad objectives, etc. The setting of the DLC takes place on a giant oil rig far off the coast of Sunset City, where disgruntled rig workers and aquatic creatures have engaged in a bloody turf war.

You can play through the entire game, earn achievements, and even play in the game's eight player online co-op mode called Chaos Squad. All progress will be saved if you decide you want to keep the game after the promotion is over. This is basically a free game rental for every Xbox Live member - totally unprecedented - especially for a game that's just over four weeks old. It's also incredibly risky. Can Microsoft's servers handle the demand? Will this actually increase sales?
