The gimmick or gameplay element here is poor controls. Utilizing your mouse you manipulate a single arm and hand to pick up, move, and remove objects from the environment with limited and frustrating success. It's often hilarious, and the results are never what you expected.

Luckily, the upcoming Surgeon Simulator 2 eschews tension and consequences in favor of goofs and hijinks, and it's all the better for it.  Come August 27th, you'll get to experience some of that goofiness for yourself when it releases on the Epic Games Store.  This ambitious followup to the original Surgeon Simulator adds a more expansive gameplay experience beyond the original's focus on a relatively simple (albeit hilarious) joke.  There's a storyline, character customization, and even user-generated levels to keep you and your fellow surgeons occupied for hours.

The original Surgeon Simulator (which got two player couch co-op on Switch and PS4) rose to prominence within the video game world thanks to streaming and YouTube videos because, let's be honest, watching someone utterly botch fictional surgery with wacky physics is entertaining. With the next title, the craziness will be cranked up even more because now you can have up to four friends right there with you who inevitably will attempt to A) chop off your head with a hacksaw, B) throw that perfectly good kidney you need to transplant into the trash, C) just put all the medical equipment into the patient, or D) all of the above.
