There are a serious lack of helicopter sim games on the market. The flight simulation games that are released are usually PC exclusive games. They also typically tend to be more realistic games, opting for a simulation experience over an arcade-like adventure. Even fewer games attempt to bring co-op into the mix. As such, Thunder Wolves fills a very interesting niche, combining cooperative gameplay, aircraft, and cheap arcade thrills. In Thunder Wolves, one player can control the helicopter while the other controls the firepower. It looks like a fun combo co-op game, and we gave it a favorable review or the PC.

Airwolf was an awesome (and I'm using the word loosely) mid-80's TV series that focused on a high-tech military helicopter. According to the internet, the franchise spawned nine video games. Seriously. Blue Thunder was a 1983 film that featured "the most advanced helicopter in the world." It even had a TV series and video game tie-in. Thunder Wolves is a 2013 downloadable game that has nothing to do with either of these franchises, other than the fact that the words "thunder" and "wolves" are in the title. Oh yeah, there's also a crap-ton of badass helicopters. The point is... well, there isn't really a point. Watch the damn video.

Other than Apache: Air Assault, we haven't seen much in the way of a true co-op helicopter game. There's a new arcade game on the horizon, set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC called Thunder Wolves. It's an arcade game in the truest sense, an in a way feels like a spiritual success to something like Desert or Jungle Strike.

It's helicopter time! Or, it will be in a few months, anyway. Ubisoft recently announced that its upcoming flying/blowing everything up arcade game Thunder Wolves will reach PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network in the second quarter of this year. Developed by bitComposer Games and Most Wanted Entertainment, Thunder Wolves puts players behind the controls of some serious flying machines to carry out missions across four different regions. Co-op mode allows two local players to team up and play as pilot and gunner of the same helicopter, which is about as cooperative as you can get. We encourage sitting in the same chair for maximum realism.

Ubisoft has announced a brand new flight action game for downloadable platforms like XBLA, PSN and PC. The game is called Thunder Wolves and it puts players in the pilot seat of numerous attack helicopters that promise over 30 combinations of weaponary.
