Tools Up! is a four player co-op game about remodeling houses. It involves using tools and materials to follow blue prints to complete a remodel, clean up and all, before time expires. It's often chaotic, silly, and frustrating. It's also a ton of fun. Inevitably someone needs to be the foreman directing traffic to be successful, so, thank you Jason for taking control.

The quick elevator pitch on Tools Up! is that it's "the Overcooked! of house remodeling." Every level you'll have to do various tasks to fix up/renovate an apartment, such as painting the walls, pull up old carpet and lay new, and grout then tile a bathroom. These are all accomplished fairly easily with a couple of button presses and the first few levels are a quick introduction to the general gameplay flow of look at the blueprints so you know what to do/where, do it, then clean up and get out. After a few levels, things start to get interesting and you'll have different obstacles, such as all your materials floating by on a river, to overcome in addition to the challenge of getting the work done in time. It'll feel familiar if you've played any Overcooked!, and it's a lot of fun and chaotic, particularly with friends.
Such is the experience Tools Up! is aiming to capture, and we'll find out just how well it does so starting today, December 3rd. The game obviously shares a lot in common with its predecessor in the "manual labor but with added pandemonium" genre, Overcooked!, but it seems distinctive enough to stand on its own two feet. Take a gander at what it's going for in the launch trailer, below.

The official website states, “Tools Up! is a couch co-op game about renovating apartments in a mysterious skyscraper.” The trailer below does show a bit of what the game offers, including different environments and hazards in said environments, but how this will factor in when trying to complete the game’s focus on renovating apartments is yet to be seen.
There will be a series of tasks/improvements to make for each of the apartments you'll be renovating and you'll need to work together to get them all done in time. The one twist to this is that only one player will be able to change the camera angle to focus on different areas of the apartment. I'm sure that won't be used to grief your friends...
