In order to claim these units, you'll have to log into Total War Access and activating this "Free-LC" from the dashboard. Once that's done, you should see something for the units that you can click on that will allow you to activate/download them. There's an FAQ and a listing of all 30 Regiments that are being added (six per the five races) over at the Total War blog.
]]>Just as with the Beastman expansion, the Wood Elves DLC will not inlcude a whole new race to play (with new units and new mechanics), but also a new mini-campaign that features the race outside of the main Grand Campaign mode. The Wood Elves will be lead by two new legendary lords (the demigod Orion and the Treeman Durthu) and offer a different kind of victory condition: restoring the Oak of Ages. You can check out the store page for the DLC for more details, but this race will be quite different from those we've seen so far in the game.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/14658/the-wood-elves-are-coming-to-total-war-warhammer.htmlThis vampire lord has his own skills, abilities, and quest chain to unlock a couple of unique items. Along with Vlad, five new battle maps have been added for use within Custom and Multiplayer battles, as well as a whole slew of tweaks and balances that are detailed over in the Total War Wiki. All of this is added to the game regardless of whether you buy the "Grim and the Grave" DLC.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/14459/more-free-lc-for-total-war-warhammer.htmlThis Lord Pack will add Volkmar the Grim (a wizard) to the Empire faction and Helman Ghorst (a necromancer) to the Vampire Counts. Legendary Lords are a bit more special than the normal lords you can recruit to lead your armies as they have a couple of unique spells/skills they can use in combat as well as having unique questlines they can pursue to gain powerful items. In addition to these two Legendary Lords, two new lord types - the Strigoi Ghoul King and the Arch Lector - will be added for the Counts and the Empire, respectively, along with new regular units and, for the first time, "Units of Renown." The latter are elite versions of existing in-game units with some increased stats and/or unique abilities. Full details about what the pack entails can be found on the Steam store page.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/14439/new-legendary-lords-featured-in-next-total-war-warhammer-dlc.htmlEven if you don't buy the Beastmen DLC, you can still play against them in the game's "Grand Campaign" mode. The new race mixes elements of the Chaos and Greenskin races, meaning you not only have to worry about them spreading corruption but also suddenly doubling their forces when they work up their rage meter enough. Along with that, a new hero for the Empire, the Amber Wizard, has been added that can ride a Griffon and wield the new Lore of Beasts magic, and a new Chaos lord, Sarthorael the Everwatcher, can be used in custom and multiplayer battles. You can read up on all the tweaks, fixes, and additions over on the Total War wiki.
]]> https://www.co-optimus.com/article/14383/some-free-content-for-total-war-warhammer.htmlMy two favorite armies to play when I was young were Chaos and Undead (now called the Vampire Counts). The ranks of my Chaos Warriors were bolstered by the feral Beastmen and I couldn't help but notice the distinct lack of those units in the Chaos Warriors DLC. Apparently, that was due to Creative Assembly building out a unique campaign for the Cloven Ones. In addition to being able to play as Beastmen in the main Campaign mode, there's a special Story Campaign (called "Eye For An Eye") set on a unique map that will pit Khazrak The One Eye against the forces of the Empire.
Thanks to the fine folks at SEGA and Creative Assembly, we're giving away 5 Copies of Total War: WARHAMMER with 5 codes for the Chaos Warriors DLC.
