Inversion Hits Steam, Flips PCs Upside Down

Co-Op upside down shooter, Inversion, has been released for Windows and is available to download via Steam. The two player co-op game features a campaign with a gravity defying gimmick that we thought was "a solid combat experience" but suffered from "a bland story and stock characters."

Inversion Trailer Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Weaponized Gravity

Today we have a new video showing off some more gameplay footage from Inversion. Saber Interactive's Nick Madonna and Matthew Karch give us a little insight into the story behind the gravity-bending third person shooter. They even do us the favor of introducing us to the main character, Davis Russel, and his co-op partner, Leo Delgado. Watch the video and get ready to weaponize gravity!

Inversion Actually Not Delayed In the States

A few days ago we broke the bad news (yet again) that Inversion was being delayed to July. Turns out we were only half correct. While the game is certainly delayed til (at least) July in Europe, according to a Namco Bandai rep, the game is still on track for a June 5th release in the states. That's next week! Here's hoping.

Once again, space and time have warped around the gravity manipulation game, Inversion, causing another delay. According to Eurogamer, the game has been pushed to July. It was supposed to launch on June 5th. This is the 63rd delay for the game, the first most notably coming in August of 1981, when the title was originally scheduled to arrive on the Atari 2600. I bet the delay will give Saber Interactive a chance to make it even better, assuring us a polished co-op experience.

New Screens For Inversion (Yep, Still Not Out Yet)

It seems like we're been showing you guys new screens and new videos for third-person shooter Inversion for, well, forever now. And yes, most of the associated news posts have had eyeroll-worthy references and puns about gravity, so you've probably had more than your fill of those by now. The good news? Not only will I refrain from such puns, but we have yet another batch of screenshots! The bad news? The game still isn't out yet! Inversion has suffered from a crazy amount of delays. The final good news? It's due out June 5th (for reals, this time... we hope).

Inversion Delayed Again... Again

Stop me if you've heard this before -- Inversion, Namco Bandai's gravity defying shooter, has been delayed. Again. I'm not going to say this is a bad thing, but I'm going to go ahead and say this isn't good. The game looks like it has a lot of potential. Check out this trailer here. Pretty badass, am I right? Sure, the main character looks a little generic, but at least he's upside down. That's got to count for something, doesn't it?

Mass Effect 3 and Borderlands 2 have shown us how a great trailer can make Co-Optimus readers giddy with excitement. The next game to try and achieve this is Inversion. If you are confused by the 10th Feb release date the trailer reports (a date now gone), you may also be baffled by the fun physics the game will offer.

Inversion is a game that is increasingly becoming the new British Railway System - continually delayed. It’s gone from being a 2010 release, to February 2012, to sometime in 'spring 2012'. If these new multiplayer screens are anything to go by, when the game does eventually arrive, it will likely do so upside down. The official launch date of Namco Bandai’s newest installment, Inversion, was intended for February 7th of this year. However, several retail outlets, such as Gamefly and Gamestop, have recently altered the game’s release date on their websites, unveiling the delay of Inversion's official release for March.

I've had the opportunity to go hands-on with upcoming 3rd person shooter Inversion on a couple of different occasions. From what I've seen, it's shaping up to be a pretty neat 2-player co-op game with the gravity gameplay well-integrated into the game (as opposed to being gimmicky, which would have been disappointing). We've showed you guys quite a few different trailers for the game, and today we have yet another one to share. This one focuses on the combat of the game.

There's been a plenty of gimmicky third person shooters. Some games let you change the terrain, others use psychic powers to varying degrees of success. Inversion has a gimmick, but it appears to have a little substance to its style. Well, at least the gimmick seems to be fully realized, which might be enough to separate it from the late winter fodder. This latest video introduces us to some of the gravity related combat features of Inversion. We've seen some of these before, but hey, they look nice. As an added bonus, the melee combat looks brutal and bloody. Gravity assisted body slams are always a good thing, right?
