Crystal Dynamics' buxom spelunker is promiscuously making her way around the block, it seems. Tomorrow, December 16th, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light flirts with the iOS by way of iTunes. Complete with wifi and Bluetooth co-op, the full game (minus DLC packs) will retail for a measly $6.99 on the iPhone and $9.99 on the iPad.
Exiting news for Tower Defense fans, Dungeon Defenders: First Wave, the tower defense/RPG hybrid from Trendy Entertainment is hitting iOS tomorrow on both iPhones and iPod Touches. The game is a precursor to the full fledged title that will be hitting Xbox Live, PSN, and PC next year.
Mass Effect 3 was revealed at the VGAs last weekend, and speculation has run rampant that the highly anticipated sequel would include multiplayer of some type. We, naturally, were hoping for co-op of some sort. But our dreams of defending the earth from some wicked looking alien baddies with a friend will have to be fulfilled in some other game.
It looks like Trine 2 is breaking the mold set by Trine by adding some pretty cool stuff and tearing down the original three character sets and rebuilding them with a lot more gusto. In an article by Siliconera.com, Trine 2 has move forward in its development to add a character builder, giving unique skills to each character.
We recently brought you news about de new two player mode in de Blob 2. While details are still out there on de exact nature of this co-op mode, developer Blue Tongue Entertainment has released a new trailer and a ginormous amount of new screens. De first de Blob was a Wii exclusive, but de sequel is coming to de PlayStation 3, de Xbox 360, de Nintendo DS, and de Nintendo 3DS. de Blob 2 is scheduled for a February 22, 2011 release. We have de new trailer right here, and while it doesn't have much in de way of gameplay, (none, in fact) de tone of de game is set nicely.
We sat down with James Macauley, Executive Producer at Red 5 Studios, to get the skinny on their upcoming free to play title Firefall which was announced earlier this year at PAX. The game is slated to be released sometime next year on the PC.
The on again, off again, relationship that Killzone 3 has with co-op gameplay appears to be on again. We think for good this time. According to an interview at 1UP with the game's managing director, Herman Hulst, Killzone 3 will have at the very least, 2 player split-screen co-op support. Details are still sketchy as to exactly what that co-op is - whether its campaign, a survival mode, or something else [UPDATE See below] - but we do know that Guerilla has spent a lot of time optimizing the engine to render two screens at once...despite it being "a lot of work."
Despite having nearly a year's worth of development still to go, Insomniac is apparently so far ahead of schedule that Resistance 3's campaign is playable "from start to finish". This is good news, as it means that they have more than enough time to tweak the campaign co-op, polish the game, and maybe even add in some little surprises.
