In 2008, I was lucky enough to join the Co-Optimus team. I've always enjoyed writing, and the opportunity to write about video games, another passion of mine, was something I couldn't pass up. Almost seven years, hundreds of news articles, and dozens of game reviews later, I have taken the next step by writing my first book!
It's called I Was Geeky When Geeky Wasn't Cool, and it's an honest autobiographical account of what it was like to grow up as a nerd in the 1980s. Throughout the book's 30,000 words, there are things that will make you laugh, things that might make you cry, and a host of 80s pop culture references. From Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons to Transformers and beyond, there is plenty here for nerds and geeks to like, but anyone who ever felt awkward growing up will find the book compelling.
I Was Geeky When Geeky Wasn't Cool is available at the Amazon Kindle store. I'd love to hear your feedback about the book, contact me here at Co-Optimus, or @marcallie on Twitter!
