Guys. You guys. We did it. We survived another entire year without any (major) mishaps. I think that's worthy of celebration, at least in the form of another weekend spent on the couch or huddled in front of the warm glow of an LCD monitor. Staying alive ain't easy work.
More importantly, this is the first Weekend in Gaming of the new year. If we don't get ourselves off to a good start now, who knows what it'll lead to? By spring, we could be knee-deep in Clash of Clans knockoffs. By summer, the site may shift to exclusively covering the Touhou series! By fall, we could be focusing on single-player games.
Heaven forbid.
So, how are we starting off the new year? Check it out.
Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Witcher 3 and Halo 5 multiplayer are on the schedule."
Jason Love (@JLove55) - "More Marvel Heroes for me, and dipping into Final Fantasy XIV."
Marc Allie (@DjinniMan) - "I will be playing Pandemic Legacy on my tabletop, and Titanfall, which I am now addicted to, on my Xbox One. Oh, and watching the Chiefs destroy the Texans."
Eric Murphy (@smurph_em) - "We're streaming GTA Online tonight at 8:30 PM CST on Twitch. If we find a fourth player, we're going to try the Prison Break heist, otherwise, we have plans to cause a lot of mischief on bicycles and get matching tattoos."
John Bardinelli (@itsamejohn) - "Catching up on Steam sale games I impulse bought over the past few weeks. I've got a lot of metroidvanias to play..."
Locke Vincent (@LockeVincent) - "Last weekend on the road so it will be a combination of Puzzle and Dragon Mario Edition, Invisible Inc. and getting a couple last matches in Dead of Winter with the family before we head home."
Tally Callahan - "Marc and I can be Pandemic Legacy bros! Also playing that on the table this weekend as well as more Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. And watching the Smite World Championships!"
Enoch Starnes (@enochstarnes) - "I'm gonna spend most of my time crushing alt-Nazis in Wolfenstein: The New Order and nourishing my budding Nuclear Throne addiction."
How about you? Is this the year of new experiences, or are you finding that you've already settled back into the norm? Let us know in the comments!
