Last week, we shared some information regarding an unlockable survival mode in Resident Evil 5. “Mercenaries Mode” pits players against the clock, and wave after wave of infected villagers, to test their survival skills. We weren't sure why, but this mode was initially set to host local co-op only.
Somewhere along the line, Capcom seems to have realized the err of their ways, because that has changed just a few days before the games release. IGN has confirmed a patch for the 360 version of the game, supporting online co-op in Mercenaries Mode. Now players will be able to survive side-by-side from half way across the world if they choose!
Still no official word yet on patch availability for the PS3.
Update: According to Xbox360 Fanboy the PS3 version was patched as well.
