SEGA Genesis Mini Slated for Sept 19 Release

42 Games, 1 Rush Of Pure Childhood.

Keeping up with all of the mini consoles on the market, SEGA has announced their SEGA Genesis Mini will become available on September 19, 2019. The teeny console comes packed with 40 games (and two “bonus” titles), all of the required cables, and 2 controllers so you and a friend can throw back to your playtimes of ol’ with Contra: Hard Corps, Golden Axe, Gunstar Heroes, Toejam and Earl, and so many more.

Check out the trailer below for snippets from your favorite SEGA Genesis titles as they fly by, but keep in mind that the console will feature 2 “bonus” titles, Tetris and Darius. This brings the overall number of games to 42. You can check out the full list of games here and preorder the Genesis for the price of $79.99. For context, Sony’s Playstation Classic (original retail $100.00)  featured 20 games with Nintendo’s SNES Classic Edition from 2017 (retail $79.99) including 21 games and the NES Classic ($59.99) including 30 titles, meaning that this is the most games we have seen in a mini console to date.

Did a specific game in the trailer grab your attention, or have you had your fill of smaller versions of classic consoles? Let us know in the comments below.
