Rebellion, the studio behind Strange Brigade and the Sniper Elite series, has acquired the game portfolio of The Bitmap Brothers, a British game development studio with titles dating back to the 90’s, like The Chaos Engine, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, and Gods. Titles in this acquisition will likely be receiving sequels or remasters, as Rebellion has expressed their appreciation of the games’ legacy as well as their intention to move forward with their newly acquired intellectual properties.
In a statement about the purchase, Rebellion co-founder and CEO, Jason Kingsley said that, "The Bitmap Brothers are renowned for making great games and for bringing gaming into the mainstream with inimitable style. We've known Mike Montgomery for many years, and we're honoured by the faith and trust that he has shown in us by passing on the torch. We'll strive to be vigilant custodians of one of gaming's great names."
