Dead Cells is an absolutely fantastic roguelike platformer that unfortunately lacks co-op. Thus, when that developer, Motion Twin, announces a new roguelike with co-op, we take notice! Windblown is coming to Steam Early Access next year and will feature fast-paced gameplay and online co-op. It can't come soon enough!
Windblown takes place in a distinctive fantasy world. The protagonists live in a peaceful village that orbits the gigantic, dangerous Vortex. When the village faces the threat of destruction at the hands of the Vortex's emissaries, a group of heroes must lay down their lives to save the day.

The reveal trailer is fantastic and surprisingly gory. These protagonists can die very easily! The game certainly has a gorgeous world to explore, one that will be different for each playthrough. The action looks suitably fast-paced, and we know we can count on Motion Twin for a strong combat system. Although I worry about the isometric perspective (not my favorite), this game clearly has the potential to rival Dead Cells in the upper echelons of the roguelike genre.
Windblown will arrive on Steam in 2024 as an early access title. The price has not been revealed, but it will increase when the game graduates from early access. Console ports have not been announced but are likely to follow in the future.
